RE: Update...(Kind of)
According to Tommy over on Discord there is no word yet on when INDX will ship. Seems there was a last minute hardware change needed and it has to be retested. They have confirmed at least that the Founder's Edition will still ship before retail though. My guess is the day before...

They keep throwing out the bait and they keep reeling us in.
Everyone thinking 'It's Bondtech, not Prusa, so delivery/shipping won't be as long winded shit show' boy were we wrong 😅
Wondering what the hardware is? Fence maybe?

They are not saying. They don't really need to say what it is specifically. It's irrelevant. I do have a problem though of having to piece all of this together by wading through different discord threads. They don't need to give dates, but at least some sort of update on a blog or email would be nice.

I don't think I was clear in what I was saying. It was more of a 'new product' we all jumped on with different expectations sort of thing.
What is irrelevant? The hardware? I'd say it was relevant if it's something that has caused more delay, no?
They gave dates, then moved dates then moved them again, not that bothered tbh. What I am bothered by, as you rightly say, is that there have been no updates via email etc. Don't care when it comes, just keep us in the loop please Bondtech.

I think it's more that if they were specific on what the issue is, people would obsess over it. Example, there was a problem with the tool dock. People would then be hyper-focused on it even after release.
RE: Update...(Kind of)
Ah, fair comment, that makes sense. Although, I'm sure we'll find out at some point, but I think you're right to say that revealing it now might have some folk focusing on it in a negative way.
I just wonder where, after all the back and forth, they found a problem? Be interesting if it was anything already mentioned or something new. Part of delivering a new product it seems.......🙄

I would say that even for "minor issues" that they are ensuring everything is tested before shipping is a good thing.
RE: Update...(Kind of)
Actually what we are all seeing with the Indx delivery 'schedule' is poor programme/project management and no doubt with a lot of pressure from marketing to ship something.
The end result of this is the product development plays out like a bad soap opera in full public view.

Yeah, well -- but how about the fact that there still are new issues (which are substantial enough to delay shipping), after 2 years or so of development and testing? Is this process converging?

Before I picked up my second printer I cared. Now? Not so much. I am still bothered somewhat by the lack of transparency though.

I have to agree. I have always wished that PR would be more transparent. I would say that there are two companies involved, but Prusa has always kept info close to the vest.

RE: Update...(Kind of)
When they presented it last autumn it was still in the prototype stage with a lot of stuff not in place, so not exactly a shock that they arent ready yet. If they would have tested parts out of serial tooling or similar and just doing final adjustment they would have had somewhat of a chance. I would guess the product planning/marketing and engineers didnt agree 🙂

Dear Founder,We owe you an update, and we should have sent this sooner.During final preparation for shipping, we found an issue that we need to resolve before the units leave our hands. We're not going to ship something we're not confident in.We don't have a confirmed date yet. We're working on it, and as soon as we have a solid answer you'll hear from us directly, here, by newsletter. We know this is frustrating. You've been patient, and you deserve better communication than you've gotten. That's on us.More soon. The Bondtech Team
RE: Update...(Kind of)
The least they could do is give us founders the improved front panel now.

😂
looks like this was sent to all FE, so my guess is this is an issue directly related to the print head itself. Hoping it’s something simple, like poor QC on the SLS case rather than related to the internal mechanisms. Cause the latter will take much longer to resolve

Well, at least you have an update.

Glancing through the discord yesterday it was looking like a couple of people noting they planned on cancelling their orders. Knowing that many more will do it quietly id say Bondtech knew they needed to get something out to prevent it from spiralling. Granted the comms doesn’t really say anything but will keep people happy, particularly when you’re forced to have to look across multiple platform and even different channels in the same platform jsut to piece the info together. All that said… it kind of just feels like when I was waiting for my Core Kit 😂
