I think you'll love most aspects of the H2D. Honestly, I love the thing. One of the nicer things at this point would be all of the profiles for filaments that Bambu has at this point in the H2D (not so much in the H2C, which is really the same printer with an updated print head and nozzles). The primary thing I like, as a hobbyist, is that the H2C doesn't crap filament if you are not going over 7 colors/materials. I have done multi-day, multi-material, prints on the H2D (primarily ABS with ASA or PETG/TPU), and it just worked.
Note: The filament profiles are nice, but the printer will figure out how to print just about anything on auto...
If I had know you were going down that road, I would held onto the parts I took out of the H2D during the upgrade and sent them to you, even though I'm in the US at this time. (The big items between the H2D and the H2C are the gantry, tool head, the AP board... all items that are useless once you upgrade H2D>H2C.)

After sleeping on it, I have cancelled my order for the INDX upgrade. It's not only Prusa's poor solution for the dock itself, but also the implication that the whole integration seems rushed (again), which drove my decision.
I will give it another night but will probably pull the trigger on an H2D tomorrow. No AMS, no H2C for me; I don't really expect a need for more than two materials at a time. The larger build volume is a plus for me, as is the availability of proven dual-material printing now.
If anyone is interested in a very diligently built Core One (kit), please drop me a personal message. I am based in Hamburg, Germany.

Seriously though I fully understand people making this choice...I'm not quite there yet, Im going to persevere with INDX as I need a reliable tool changer and right now with my C1 this makes financial sense. Really hope I dont regret this decision.

I am optimistic that eventually INDX will work very nicely indeed on the Core One. It might just need a couple of firmware iterations, the release of PrusaSlicer 3.0 (and 3.0.1 and maybe 3.0.2), and a few community-designed hardware mods until it gets there.
If 3D printing were a "self-serving" hobby for me, I would enjoy that journey, and I hope you will! But I have a few projects which I want to complete and which need dual-material printing. Hence having something that "just works" becomes a priority. So I'm getting ready to sell my soul to the Chinese masters of a walled garden...

It is a Chinese wall garden, but they are caving a little bit… you can put it in LAN only mode, and you can use orca slicer and such…
I am thinking about doing an INDX system… I’m just gonna wait for quite a long time until it’s actually ready for prime time. What will tell me, whether prusa is serious will end up being whether or not the core one L was designed from the beginning to support INDX with all the proper holes in the frame and everything.

Right, Bambu did relax their stance a bit after the backlash in January 2025. I think I will be alright with LAN mode.
Regarding INDX preparations in the Core One L: The published CAD model does not show any obvious mounting points. At the time Prusa designed the Core One L, they may well have assumed in good faith that the slender mounting bar shown at FormNext was the final solution.

I would much rather replace the vertical corner profiles to accommodate 2 beams, than have the stupid metal fence in the way.
It's mental to me that this has been agreed upon as a suitable solution.

That's actually a very fitting description. Bambu makes it as easy as possible to get new users up an running -- preferably using their proprietary RFID'd filaments of course. And I would be surprised if they are not thinking hard about "value added" (i.e. billable) online subscriptions and whatever.
Prusa, in contrast, requires some patience and tenacity from their users: waiting for the product to become available, figuring things out, waiting for firmware revisions to make everything work smoothly. But then you get a lot more freedom to tweak the product, and you feel like you have made it your own. It does not feel great to "abandon" the Core One after I have gone through that learning curve. Maybe that is "customer lock-in, the Prusa way". 😉

My Core ONE and Core ONE L look identical as far as mounting holes so I don't think there will be a difference in implementation unless Prusa hears the complaints and do something with the L. That being said there is a screw hole where the door magnets is and on the opposite side near the hinge. It is the same on the ONE and ONE L. That to me would be a great place to attach an added metal strut to secure INDX.

A local vocational college has expressed interest in taking it off my hands at cost in exchange for me teaching a couple of nights of how to use it. Sounds like fun!
I won't talk about the BL H2D here, it's not the place. Once it arrives I'll split my time between here and at the BL forums. It will be weird being a noob again.

I'm still undecided on diving into the INDX.
It is a bit of a blow to see the design of the front 'fence' change so drastically. One of the things I chose the C1 for was it's design aesthetic, and now that visibility will be compromised along with the printable volume change, I don't know. The only thing that is keeping me interested is what the upgrade path will look like with the INDX on C1. Will the volume increase? Will there even be an upgrade path? These are the things that are needed, but the way Prusa operates, who knows?
I can only see that the 8 tool option is the best, but such a shame the option to chop and change nozzles for the same price is a blow. If it was £15-20 for each nozzle, bearing in mind the Founders edition, it wouldn't be so hard to swallow, but alas. Also the fact that there seems to be software that needs ironing out, and I'm starting to think that the savings of the Founders slot, may be outweighed by the potential issues faced in the first few months of ownership, and I don't know if I'm ready to take that leap.......maybe.....😅

I guess we don't know yet whether the "regular" package will be more expensive than the Founders Edition, and by how much. Competitive pressure will probably limit the price tag they can put on this upgrade.

Yep... I spent some time on a German Bambu forum in early 2025, while I was trying to decide what printer to buy. Nice folks, but I did not encounter any "technical guys" like some of the regulars here.

I was amused at first about the bait-and-switch and now I'm angry. I go on to Discord (a mistake in hindsight) mention this casually and the Prusa fanboys rip into me. I'm still cracking up over that.
I'm pessimistic that the software will be available when the kits arrived. Prusa has had a year to work this out and the betas should have been in our hands by now. Since the introduction of the XL they've had 5 years to work out a consumer grade tool changer. Instead we get the MK4 , then the Core One, which on release was already behind their competition and then the OAK???. So a year after the C1 release I was expecting the C1+ to have a heated chamber and HT hot end. Instead we get $10 worth of plastic, part of which is a vent opener that @Jurgen figured out 9 months earlier.
The INDX was a step in the right direction but it's too little, too late and the implementation is half-baked. Meanwhile SnapMaker and Bambu came out with fully-formed products and Prusa is falling further behind.
As far as future upgrade path? I really don't see any. The Core One is a dead-end.
