PrusaSlicer EasyPrint Status & Chromebook Experience?

Hi everyone,

I'm posting on behalf of a municipality in Denmark. In our schools, all students use Chromebooks daily, and we're really excited about the potential of PrusaSlicer EasyPrint to bring 3D printing more easily into our educational environment.

We were wondering if anyone from Prusa Research or the community has an update on the development of PrusaSlicer EasyPrint? We're particularly interested in any potential release date that might be on the horizon.

Also, a big question for us is whether anyone has had the chance to try out a version of PrusaSlicer EasyPrint on a Chromebook? We'd love to hear about any experiences with compatibility, performance, or any quirks you might have encountered on ChromeOS.

We believe that a streamlined slicer like EasyPrint that works well on Chromebooks could be a game-changer for integrating 3D printing in education. Any insights you can share would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Finn Nørgaard

RE: PrusaSlicer EasyPrint Status & Chromebook Experience?

I'm not sure if PrusaSlicer is the correct place to look for EasyPrint since it acts as a cloud-based PrusaSlicer. I have noticed, however, an EasyPrint button showed up on my Printables account. I haven't used EasyPrint, nor have I requested early access. Maybe Prusa has opened up EasyPrint to the masses? I do see my printer, but that is because I have my printer logged in to PrusaConnect using my Printables authentication. I did see that there is an option to add an "offline" printer to EasyPrint, so maybe that is how you could get your students to generate gcode that they then send to you to upload to the PrusaConnect account of your class printer. (Giving the students carte blanche to connect to the printer with a shared account sounds like a potential security and/or hardware conflict nightmare.)

EasyPrint doesn't have all the features of PrusaSlicer, but the name should have given that away. 😉
