Metallic Rattling while printing

I just received my Core One L last week and things have been going well.

I am now 63% thru a 10 hour print and there is a disturbing metallic rattling sound coming from what seems to be the front of the gantry or top of the Z rods maybe?

I was having surface quality issues so I did the strobe belt tension adjustment and found that the belts were at 107 upper and 99 lower. I adjusted the tension lower du to the tutorial advising that optimal tension was between 95U/85L. A few calibration cubes later and things seemed good.

Could the prolonged vibrating from the belt alignment have loosened something?

should I have left the belt tension where it was since I assume it was adjusted in some way when it was assembled?

Has anyone else had loose hardware issues?

RE:

I have a clear resonance in the printer, not specific to any panel or part vibrating. My belts were set correctly from Prusa.

This is resonance with the frame. Since you have the Core One L, the accelerometer is built in. Try running the "phase stepping calibration". That should quiet the printer some. Also, where is the printer placed? Is it a sturdy table or on the floor (for example)? Some have found placing it on a concrete paving stone will quiet it a lot.

After some investigation, it does seem like the rattling if only noticable when the bed is about halfway up its travel. at top and bottom Z there doesn't seem to be and rattling. Maybe its something I just have to get used to. Also, I did the Phase stepping Cal and it returned a message that said it reduced the x and y vibration by 84% and 94% (!?).

I haven't been able to sit down and do any do any detailed test prints yet but I'm hopeful.

Hello,

I'm having a weird rattling on my C1L also.

I attach two videos so you can check it out.

Have you managed to pinpoint the source?

Not been able to do it till now.

I wonder if you have a loose side panel ? Failing that once the print is done try moving the print head (disable your motors first) and feel of you can feel any vibrations ? (I suspect it could be the drive cog on the motor ? Might be a bit loose but you should see some changes to the print in terms of banding if that was the case.) Alternatively on the sudden change of direction something could be loose on the machine which is rattling so check to see if the linear rale is secure, the rods are secure and the gantry is secure

Thanks will check those out.
I removed the back electronic panel to take that out of the equation.
Will print some stuff today and give some feedback.

Some feedback, i think it's the bed. If i put some pressure with my finger on the front piece of metal that is under the bed the rattling stops.

Should i report this to Prusa or do a DYI on a 17++€ printer? 😆

This is the status of the thing right now.

Been chating with support, going to lower the bed and adjust the trapezoid nuts.
