Designed for Offline Use issue
Hello, Prusa is advertising CORE One L printer as Designed for Offline Use (The printer can be configured and operated offline, including slicing and installation of firmware updates). But that assumes that PrusaSlicer installed on PC has online internet access. If there is no online access you cannot slice parts for CORE One L because latest PrusaSlicer version 2.9.4 does not come with bundled CORE One L profile. That profile needs to be downloaded online. Digging deeper there is one page that is dedicated to Manual profile download: ( https://help.prusa3d.com/slicer-profiles) but as of 8.1.2026 that page is 8 months old (meaning it contains 8 months old profiles) and it does not contain CORE One L profiles as well. There are also no CORE One L profile on github: ( https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/) Could you please explain to me how can you slice parts for CORE One L on PC that has no internet access? Where can I get sytem CORE One L profile to add to PrusaSlicer? Could you please keep https://help.prusa3d.com/slicer-profiles up to date or better create github repository for them? Right now slicing cannot be operated offline and so printer is not designed for offline use.
Best Regards
Sam1
RE: Designed for Offline Use issue
The profiles for the prusa FFF printers are here https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer-settings-prusa-fff last updated 3 weeks ago.
They used to be located here https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer-settings?tab=readme-ov-file but the readme on that page has the new locations. All of this is detailed on the Prusa github https://github.com/prusa3d there are many different repositories for all the various projects.
Prusa has been using github for years. Its the best place to get the software too. Of course you need to be online to access github so fundamentally something needs to be connected at some point 😉
RE: Designed for Offline Use issue
Thank you for response. I missed the https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer-settings-prusa-fff repo. I downloaded it as zip file and also unpacked locally. But importing CORE One L profile is still not working. Things I tried in PrusaSlicer:
File -> Import config (*.ini files) -> 2.4.4.ini will import just default FFF printer.
File -> Import config bundle (*.ini files) -> 2.4.4.ini will import 0 presets
Configuration -> Configuration Wizard -> Configuration Sources -> Local sources -> Load fails to extract local archive
(note: downloading zip file from https://help.prusa3d.com/slicer-profiles and Loading it works but CORE One L is not visible configuration wizard)
Are there any other ways to import system profiles? Reason I'm investigating it is because this PC sits behind corporate firewall that blocks the communication with prusa servers so the only way to get stuff on this PC is to download them on another PC a copy files offline.
RE:
Go to PrusaSlicer top menu Configuration > Configuration wizard, it will start to fetch data (you can cancel that), and then you will be presented with a window.
The option on the left Configuration Sources allows to select a zip file in Local Sources section, the zip file can be downloaded from https://help.prusa3d.com/slicer-profiles.
See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
