Tips for printing "organic" shapes with supports?

Getting good results on the top with the 0.25 nozzle and 0.7 layer height, but still getting a rough surface on the bottom where it meets supports. I've tried adjusting the XY separation value to be closer (50%), but still not great results. Supports are set to Snug. Material is Prusament PLA. Any tips?

Slice the part in two horizontally.  Rotate the lower part cut downwards and print both sides without support.  Glue together post printing.
