Prusament PETG Nozzle Build Up
I’ve seen a fair few PETG posts with fairly bad stringing etc. however I can’t seem to find this specific issue with the Core One.
I’m having success with PLA, but I get nozzle build up over time with PETG leading to prints getting stringy and having black “burnt” looking patches in them.
Im running:
- Sunlu dryer (drying at 60 degrees for 6 hours)
- Obxidian nozzle 0.4mm normal flow
I changed the stock nozzle to the obxidian to try to fix this, and then got the dryer to try again, but consistently get this build up issue. The prints are adhering fine, and first layers look great, although after first layers I can see tiny amounts of build up possibly starting around the very end of the nozzle. I’m not sure how to go about “tuning” for a filament and if that’s what’s needed here? Any advice appreciated!

Buy a brass brush. Remove the sock, heat the nozzle past 200° and then clean the nozzle with the brush. It must be brass. Do not use steel.
I would also suggest going onto printables and search for "Core One nozzle wiper". Most of us use nozzle wiper models to keep the nozzle clean between prints.

This is PETG being PETG. Much more likely to curl back and stick to the nozzle. Obxidian or not. Dried or not.
