Filament bubble on the purge tower kicks the printhead off-position
This has happened to me three times now with the attached model.
A filament bubble forms on the cleaning tower, and as soon as it reaches a certain height, it throws the print head off track.
The next layer is then printed significantly misaligned.
I used the standard settings for PETG.
What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.
RE: Filament bubble on the purge tower kicks the printhead off-position
A known issue and I'd claim a software fault: The nozzle parks for too long directly over the wipe tower and melts into it.
It's a very old topic. Existing solutions on the web use a G code that switches to relative positioning, moves the nozzle up e.g. 10 mm and then back to absolute positioning. I've never gotten them to work with the current PrusaSlicer version for unknown reasons.
I now use the following in Printers/Custom G-Code/Tool change G-code:
G1 X10 Y100 F5400
It moves the head away just before the filament change.
Use the preview (tool path on) to confirm that there is no object on X10 Y100 (it wouldn't collide but potentially melt into it, just like the wipe tower)
