Controlling the path on the top layer
Another little stumbling block for me: I am trying to print a small knob for an encoder. On the top layers, I would like to get circular perimeters only, for a smoother look. But the slicer insists on creating two areas of linear infill (red in the picture below).
I am sure there is a slicer parameter I can tweak to avoid this, but can't find it. Thank you for a hint!

Infill -> Top fill pattern -> Concentric.
Or you could set a higher number of perimeters, either for the whole print, or limit that to just the top layer using a height modifier.
RE: Controlling the path on the top layer
Thank you, either of these do the trick!
I had not noticed the possibility to adjust the infill pattern for the top layer -- very helpful to know. But I should certainly have been aware of the option to increase the number of perimeter lines; had a "duh!" moment there... 🙄

Additionally you can use a "height range modifier" (right-click on the object) to use thinner layers at the top to smooth it even more.
You can also fiddle with "variable layer height" but it often needs a fine tune to get clean transitions, more useful on complex parts.
