BAMBULAB PETGCF - Help?
I have never been able to get a setting that would not make a blob around the nozzle when using this filament. It is dried at under 15% humidity and running from a dryer. 🙂 I know the 'did you dry the filament comments are coming' so let's skip that 🙂
I have tried this filament is different printers, P1P, A1 and now the Core One. I have not been able to make this filament work adequately, although, interestingly enough, the print do come out well provided the blob does not get DROPPED mid print in a visible spot. Often times, the blob just stays on the nozzle... Most of the time.
I have tried all the retraction settings under the sun, speeds, temps, you name. Is this filament just trash?
I used mostly 0.4 nozzles with this filament (I know this is going to be prone to a clog). I already clogged several nozzles using this or other Cf loaded filaments, but I dislike the finish that the 0.6 nozzle makes so this is an acceptable loss to me.
Anybody with real experience on PETGCF? recommend some setting please.
RE: BAMBULAB PETGCF - Help?
Have you tried reducing the extrusion multiplier (flow)? I often print PETG/PLA with the flow rate reduced to 94% just to avoid these blobs... (this is on a MK4S)
Just this week I found this (old) article which hints that in the past the slicers were commanding too much extrusion for the larger (> 0.2 mm) nozzle sizes: https://muppetlabs.co/3dprinting_prusaslicer_mk3_notes.html#prusaslicer-start-gcode-mk3-notes
Maybe that's not the case now, but I've had good luck with reduced flow rates.

RE: BAMBULAB PETGCF - Help?
well, it was in fact under extruding so to properly print this filament in the core one, I have to either run the extrusion at 100% minimum (even then it is under extruding).
The nozzle is new and this is the second nozzle I am using with this filament so it is not the nozzle that is clogged or anything...
The print do come out beautiful though BUT the blob at the nozzle is always a concern. It can come loose at any given time and break havoc, ruining an otherwise very nice print. It is very annoying, because this is otherwise one of my favourite filaments to print with. The nozzle blob is a nuisance.
I never tried another brand to really know whether this is an issue with ALL petgCF or just this one...
RE: BAMBULAB PETGCF - Help?
I haven't used this particular PETG-CF but found I had to lower both extrusion multiplier and temperature - also had to tweak pressure advance.
Depending on the part this isn't always adequate - lots of small moves require even lower flow rate - larger surface area and a higher rate or it under-extrudes. It's really frustrating to work with, but such nice results. I find even regular PETG frustrating to work with though.
