RE: G-code corrupt, print stops after 25%
Have you tried a different USB stick? Less than 32 GByte in size, freshly formatted in FAT32 format.
There have also been reports of sporadic USB access errors due to a bad cable connection between the display unit and the xBuddy board. You can try re-seating the ribbon cable connectors on both sides.
RE: G-code corrupt, print stops after 25%
Ok thank you for the fast reply, will try this with the cable, the USB stick is the original from Prusa, didn‘t have issues writing on it with the IMac
RE: G-code corrupt, print stops after 25%
Alright, but if re-seating the plugs does not fix it, do yourself a favor and try a different USB stick too. We have seen occasional reports of USB sticks failing, including the original ones supplied by Prusa.
RE: G-code corrupt, print stops after 25%
My Prusa supplied USB fried out after only 1 year. Since then I use a 8GB SanDisk Industrial Micro SD
RE: G-code corrupt, print stops after 25%
Hello @all,
i think i figured it out, it wasn't the usb stick or port or cable, it was because the name of the printer profile contained a "%" sign. The problem occured when i renamed the print setting profile from 0.2mm SPEED @COREONE 0.4 to 0.2mm SPEED gyroid 10% @COREONE o.4.
I read somewhere in the forum when you have a % in the filename there is also a problem. Until now everything works good with the "old" stick, but thanks for your answers.
Happy printing
RE: G-code corrupt, print stops after 25%
Glad you resolved it! But it's an unexpected behavior: If I understood your original post right, the printer started printing and then failed mid-print (causing you to lose the print)? If it stumbles over the profile name, why would it be able to start printing at all? Fingers crossed that this was really the root cause.
RE:
I see your point and was thinking of this, too. In Python % is used for the modulo operation which shows the rest of a division and its Hex 25.
I formerly had an amateur radio license and we said: if it comes to Gigahertz magical things can happen. 🤷♂️
