Filament sensor breaks some filaments
I have some ProtoPasta glass filled PLA I want to try in my Core One, but I can't get it past the filament sensor in the side. I have to push hard enough that it snaps.
No problems with PETG or regular PLA. Unfortunately, the location of that assembly is super annoying.
I did see one part for flexibles on Printables, but haven't tried it yet. Unfortunately, the location of that assembly is super annoying.
Anyone else find this issue?
RE: Filament sensor breaks some filaments
Hi,
I am not using very sensitive filaments, but I had problems with feeding in some of my PLA or PETG filaments. What helps is to cut the end of the filament at an angle, since the side filament sensor uses a steel ball that needs to be pushed aside (see here: https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/7-bodywork-electronics_835530#844901). The ball is held in place by a lever and the leaver uses a small magnet, so you need a bit of force to push it aside.
