core one + update problems

I all,

There is a problem when installing the Core One Plus update. The ventilation grille must be able to be moved by the print head, but this grille and the cover that holds it both have cut-outs with sharp edges. It is not possible to move the grille easily, as the cut-outs catch on each other. To solve the problem, I had to carefully deburr all the cut-outs! Now it works, but still, this is not documented. Another thing that is not documented concerns the position of the orange part in the filament loader. I couldn't find any clear information on when to change the position of this lever depending on the filament type. Chat GPT helped me, but this update is still poorly managed.

RE:

The point of the filament sensor switch is to make it easier to insert softer filaments when the switch is in the "X" position. Frankly it's kind of dumb in that Prusa could have just moved the opposing magnet further away and not bother with a switch at all.

As for the grill, the instructions were to flip it 180° so that the direction to open and close it was inverted. Wasn't very clear at first. I didn't notice any burs on mine.

No burr on mine either. All Core Ones I upgraded work fine as far as the grille is concerned.

The new switch is a non event for a I've never had a problem loading TPU into the side filament sensor. I would have been excited to see a change to the way the filament is loaded into the sensor on the Nextruder because that's where TPU gets stuck for me. The mods I saw for that bent piece don't seem to work with the lid on.

I agree, the instructions for the upgrade are not great. Very different in style and presentation. I still believe they were written by a student intern...

TPU 80A and foaming TPU (like TPU Air) won't get past the steel ball on the side sensor without moving the magnet further back. As for the Bowden bend, yes it won't clear the top lid unless you have the mods which raise up the lid for easy removal which is what I have. The mod for the nextruder sensor simply removes the spring and replaces it with a magnet. Effective and it works
