Core one printhead thermistor

Hi

Received my first printer and have errors about MIN temp. Measured thermistor with fluke multimeter and looks that there is bad connection and resistance value jumping around and have megaohms resistance. Is it possible to swap only thermistor or do I need new complete hotend?

Yes, you can easily swap out the thermistor. You can buy the thermistor separately: FYSETC Prusa i3 MK4 XL Replacement Original Thermistor

Remove the old one by loosening the grub screw on the heat block. When attaching the new one, don't over tighten the grub screw. Just tighten enough so it doesn't slip out of the heat block.

Contact the support chat, if it's a new printer they'll send you a new one. As hyiger said, it's rather easy to replace.

Suggest you contact Prusa Support if the printer is that new, they will need you to perform some checks i.e the resistance measurement you have already done.

As above changing the thermistor is quite simple but requires the hot end to be removed for access, support will guide you through this.

Lastly the only reason for purchasing the thermistor is Prusa aren't that quick sending items out, typically 3 days before you receive the part.

This happened to me on a new Core One so I sympathise, not what you expect on a brand new printer.

Thank you both for quick answers and indeed I will receive new part and it was very easy to remove after understood that silicone part is just a cover and peel easily off.

Great design of components as I am coming from automation industry and noticed hundreds of clever ways how printer is designed to be easy to service. That is quite rare nowadays and specially in that price level of product.

It will be the ridiculously thin wires used on the thermistor, I'm on my third one, the last time I broke one support sent me out 2 because they know full well how easy it is to break the wiring.

This is one thing I 100% won't miss when INDX arrives.
