Core One Buddy cam doesn't respond to QR code. Now what to do?
I've got my new Core One printing OK, and want to install the Buddy 3D cam that I ordered for it.
Everything goes fine (I didn't discover the cable was pre-installed until after I'd disassembled the box--it would be nice if the instructions told where to look to discover this. It's easy. Look at the USB connector in back--if the cable is preinstalled, it's plugged in. Sheesh. That would have saved a couple hours and frustration with little rivets falling on the floor etc.)
But when I go to show the camera the QR code that's showing on my iPhone, the result is always 3 beeps, a failure. What to try? I reset the camera to factory. I unplug it and start again. The blinking doesn't match the instructions: it just blinks green, not any double blink as the instructions say, but after a few seconds it's beepbeepbeep, an error signal. When I did the factory reset, the camera spoke something like "exiting application",which means nothing to me.
So I'm stuck. What to try?

OK, I got it to work. The problem was I was pressing the blue button near the lens, which was really the light sensor.
I did disassemble the camera all the way to the blue button, quite fiddly, determined it had no switch functionality, and reassembled the camera. Then went back to the instructions, which said to press the reset button, which I had taken to be the factory settings.
So then I could get it into pairing mode, but I had a very hard time finding the right QR code to show it. It failed a couple times, but eventually played the nice music and now I have pictures in Connect.
So, it was cockpit errors all the way.
Thanks for the help!

Progress. I got the QR to display on my desktop Mac, and aimed the camera toward it, several feet away, and suddenly the connection worked.
I still haven't seen a current picture, they all seem to be minutes old, but there are pictures in Connect now next to the printer info.

Not progress. The camera it connected with was my iphone which was in my pocket. Couldn't understand the weird camera angles for a while!

Did you push the button? You gotta push the button and it will say something about scanning started.

Thanks, useful suggestion! I didn’t know it should talk, and blinking is not well defined.
I did press, but there’s no feel of any click and there’s no reaction. Pressing harder and holding longer have no effect. As far as I can tell, the button is motionless and not connected.
Should I open it or take the camera case off?

So that happened to mine as well. The button was mashed up inside it and didn't move or click. I had to take the button cover off and unstick the button manually. It should make a nice mechanical click when you push it. And it doesn't take a ton of force.

I had to set my phone display to full brightness in order for it to read the QR code. Also doing it outside the CoreOne frame seems to help.

Unlike every other network device out there... the Buddy3D is CASE SENSITIVE for the SSID.
The password I understand... the SSID, not so much.
The password not accepting special characters also is not really cool... unless that's been fixed?
RE: Core One Buddy cam doesn't respond to QR code. Now what to do?
Actually, per the wireless spec SSIDs are, in fact, case sensitive. So, in this respect the camera is behaving properly. Source.

Wow. I gather that other devices are mostly searching and grabbing the SSID for you… and plopping it in.
Without a doubt, though, more useful errors would be helpful: unable to find SSID/Network, unable to authenticate (password incorrect), etc. et
