RE: Cold Pull process?
Is the filament sensor that's normally in the extruder gone now? I saw in a teardown video where the filament sensor was at the entry on the side. I'm planning to move the entry to the top of the machine and was hoping to just use the filament sensor that's normally on the extruder, but if you can't easily disconnect the Bowden tube, then I'll have to come up with something else.

Well images wouldn't attach so:

Thanks for the pictures, that is quite different than I was expecting.

I am not positive.. I feel like there may be 2 now. So I ran out of filament on a print the other night and it had me remove the filament and add a new one, but the filament was about 2 inches out of the Bowden tube so it has to have a sensor by the entry point. However there is still a sensor in the extruder as when you load filament it autoloads and asks you type of filament. This would also be required for the MMU3 to work properly.
RE:
There are two, like on the XL. Which, given the PTFE tube that runs from the extruder to the side, is necessary.

On the XL in just disconnect the tube to change filament since I've bypassed the side sensors. No big deal being a push connect, but the tube does not look easy to disconnect here. I'll likely have to move the side filament sensor as well to the top.
RE: Cold Pull process?
If adding the MMU3 I assume the side sensor wouldn't be needed at all, since you have a filament sensor on the MMU3, and another on the extruder (as it is now with the MK4s)?......
