Preheating should be done with the build plate at the top position. It is useless to heat the bottom of the chamber while printing at the very top during several hours. Just do an auto-home and then preheat.

But yes, there is a safety timeout (that saved me more than once). No need to preheat during hours, it is not even strictly necessary to preheat at all, the chamber will be heated up way before to have printed a multiple centimeters tall part. Moreover the print profile specify a minimum temperature to reach before to start printing plus there is a "heat absorption" delay, so no babysitting needed.

My CORE One can reach 57°C with a room temperature of 19°C during a PC-ABS print without preheating, I click print and go live my life.

And it has only 35°C after 30 minutes.. Is it even possible to preheat the chamber?

I'm thinking of cutting a hole in the left panel and putting in a PTC heater controlled by hackerboard for initial temperature boost. Otherwise, it's useless, I don't want to wait half a day before I can print something from ASA.
