Buddy 3D Cam Live View ?

Hallo Prusa Team,

has anybody a hack or idea do make live view for the buddy 3d cam ?

It's annoying when you only get a great picture every few seconds. It must be possible for the Prusa to finally release the livestream. It just needs to release the home address of the Connect.

Frame rate aside, the picture looks a bit blurry to me. I assume you are using your extra LED lights and they are sending some scattered light into the optics? Does the contrast get better if you use only the standard lights?

Yes, the picture is a bit milky, but it gives a good overview... On the other side, I have a C920. Unfortunately, it's a bit less wide-angle...but live 🙂

One would think so. But it's hard to not lose hope for it happening in our lifetime...

RE:

My Core One camera is constantly in black and white mode, I once saw it very briefly switch to colour when the sun was shining directly onto it.
Surely thats not right? I would've thought with the LEDs on full that should be enough light for the camera to be in colour mode? Is there a setting im missing somewhere?

Also live stream is seriously needed ASAP...I can understand the 1 frame in 10 seconds when viewing from outside the home through Prusa's servers, but 99% of the use of this camera for me will be when I'm at home, but away from the printer.

I don’t understand it either why it’s not possible to see a live view. Every cheap Chinese camera does the job perfectly. Is it to much data which goes through the Prusa server or what is the problem?

Yes, that's their reason for limiting the data rate -- and that part is understandable in my opinion. The part I can't understand is why the only option for accessing the camera images is via their blessed Prusa Connect server. Why can't the video stream be accessed locally, and with the full data rate?

I'll be honest, having local live stream at 20/25/30fps is much more useful to me than 1 frame every 10 seconds through their server. It's a bit weird how this is taking so long to address.
