2 out of 3 Z-motor stopped working (fixed it just curious if anybody else encountered it).

Turned off my Prusa core one+ after a weekend of flawless printing this morning, restarted it this evening, and when i was going to start a print, it just stod making angry noises so pressed reset before something broke, tried a couple of times, until i figured out it was the Z plane not working properly.
Tried changing Z manually figured out left and back didnt work just the right front motor.
No matter what i did worked until i disabeled the motors and twisted the rods manually. then restarted it and everything worked like nothing ever happened.
No error codes or anything like that, just didnt work.
now im printing just like before.
And yes im new to this, my second prusa but the first MK3s did nothing but make trouble, was hoping for better luck with this one LOL

RE: 2 out of 3 Z-motor stopped working (fixed it just curious if anybody else encountered it).

The bed was probably tilted somewhat, causing a mechanical jam of the Z axes. The attempt to move the bed via the motors may have made it worse, if the one motor that responded happened to move further in the tilt direction. By turning the rods manually you corrected the tilt and hence the jam. If you have not done so yet, do a Control > Calibration and tests > Z calibration.

That leaves the question how the bed got tilted in the first place. With the motors (or the entire printer) powered off, it is possible to move the corners of the bed up and down by pushing/pulling on the bed. But it takes quite a bit of force. Any chance that you needed to push a lot e.g. to remove a print from the bed?

An alternative cause for the initial jam might be too much lateral strain on the trapezoidal nuts. Their position is over-constrained by design; it needs to align with the bed position defined by the smooth rods. You can do the following to make sure the nuts all sit in "relaxed" lateral positions: Drive the bed all the way down. For all three black trapezoidal nuts at once, loosen the two M3 screws that hold them to the bed -- this lets the nuts settle in the correct lateral position. The retighten the screws -- do not overtighten, the nuts are plastic (POM).

Yeah I think you are right. And a z

that's the strange thing. I only turned it off after I removed the print and turned it off before I touched anything. And it didn't move when it tried on its own. But could see the one motor function when I did it manually quite a good bit.

But hopefully it's not a problem in the future and it will keep going now. Did a 11+ hour print without a stop. That I can see without being home to remove the print from the bed ^^
