Z-axis grease

Hello everyone,

I wanted to buy grease for the three Z-axis screws: https://www.prusa3d.com/product/lubrication-set/ Unfortunately, it's not available from Prusa.

Do you have an equivalent product on Amazon that you could recommend?

Thanks everyone,

Nicolas

That product is for the linear rail the z axis uses the normal Prusa grease

Hello Mickael,

Thanks for your quick response!

I bought this on Amazon: Graisse Amazon

The Core One has three threaded vertical axles (Axe Z ?) and two horizontal axles (Axes X ?).

Can you tell me which axles I can use the grease I bought on?

Thank you very much.

Nicolas

I went with Super Lube Synthetic for my printer.  I have seen it highly recommended many times and could purchase a large tube for a low price from a local store.  I find that it works nicer that the Prusa supplied grease.  Seen it used on commercial scale CNC's as well.

Aren't the trapezoidal nuts supposed to work grease-free?

Haven't added any grease to my Z-Axis threaded rods, and don't get any noise etc from them.....

I had a chat with Prusa support a while back since I didn't want to order a very cheap lubrication from Prusa (where the shipping would be more expensive than the item). Their support said that a lithium-based lubricant will do.

Super Lube isn't cheap. In the quantity I purchased, it is much cheaper than by 10ml tubes.  Look up the specs on Super Lube.  I prefer synthetic for my work environment.  I also like that the Super Lube is rated for contact with food producing surfaces.  I used the original Prusa lube for the last 1.5 years.

Steel rods need grease.  Delrin is supposed to be self lubricating and hard.  Some suggest you lubricate delrin, others say not.  I have not had any issues with mine being lubricated with Super Lube.

If the z-axis screw is squeaking, it could be the trapezoidal nut horizontal position misalign.

Just loosen both screws of the trapezoidal nut 1-2 turns, lower the plate all the way down by menu and than tighten the screws again.

It cured my problem with left z-axis yesterday.

Hello everyone.

First of all, thank you for your many replies.

The English forum is much more active than the French one!

So I'm going to use Super Lube on my X, Y, and Z axes.

I noted that it shouldn't be used on the linear rail. As for whether or not to lubricate the threaded Z axis on the MK4s, it's not necessary, but it is on the Core One.

Thanks again to the community.
