Where is the upgraded bed for Core One ?

I bought my prusa a year ago. After seeing the upgraded bed in the L version i cant help but feeling disappointed for buying the core one a year ago.

Any plans on upgrading all the electroncis in the Core One? Has prusa done this in the past? Or is it the core one going to have the same electronics throughout its life?

It is not advisable to spend money on any upgrades before you sell your printer. A buyer may or may not value the upgraded functionality. If they do, they can upgrade themselves; if they don't, you have wasted money that you will not recoup in the sale.

I think I can confidently say there will not be an upgrade for the Core One. Why? Because the Core One L wasn't offered as a kit. Why? Because of the heated bed being AC powered.

As we have been speculated in the other thread that your raised and also one specifically around C1L kits, I strongly suspect that the Core One is Prusa's last kit printer.

Also to say: "I was disappointed I bought version X and didn't wait for version Y" you can say the about any product.

I don't think the AC (i.e., mains) powered bed is a bar to making a C1L kit: after all, the PSUs of all Prusa printers are mains-powered.

If Prusa can make it so all the exposed mains voltage is sealed behind "no user serviceable parts inside" stickers, and all the kit-builder has to do is install the bed and plug it into a socket, a mains-powered bed shouldn't be an issue.   I haven't seen a C1L up close yet so I don't know if it is architected to support such a "mount, plug, and play" bed design.

I may have oversimplified it by restricting it to the bed. I'm of the strong opinion that there will be no more kits. Or if there are, perhaps partially assembled.

Why? Has Prusa said something that makes you believe this?

I see the C1L has a 7-8 week lead time at the moment, so one reason why there may be no C1L kits may simply be that, because of supply chain constraints, they couldn't supply the demand for kits without increasing the assembled lead time even more.  Time will tell, but I think it's not unreasonable to think they might offer C1L kits once the lead time for assembled C1Ls drops to zero.

One interesting bit of data to factor into this is how much commonality there is between the C1 and C1L.  Obviously the gantry and case are not the same, but how much of the rest is?  Would a C1 to C1L upgrade (which I'd expect if there is a kit C1L) just mean replacing the case and the mechanical parts of the CoreXY system?  It's not definitive -- using the same parts may just be smart supply management -- but if there was almost NO commonality, that would weigh against a kit ever existing.

They would have already listed a kit on their website if they had intentions of producing one. Also, I couldn't imagine there is an upgrade path from a C1 to a C1L.It's a completely different printer in terms of geometry and even electronics. The Nextruder is mostly the same except for the Love board. Probably some overlap in the plastic parts.

Let's hope I'm wrong. But I doubt it.

I guess it's just the writing on the wall. One of the most relevant official Prusa statements can be found here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/prusa3d/comments/1oo9n6f/core_one_l_faq

explaining why there "is" no kit and acknowledging "complications" in certification if there were one.
