RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
Sorry, just saw this. I finally got the papers from FedEx in the mail day before yesterday that have that info. I'll look at it when I get home today and post an answer to your question. I looked it over briefly when it came in, but all of the charges appeared to be purely tax driven. I don't recall their being a brokerage charge, or anything else actually going to FedEx at all. I'll confirm or correct this later.
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
So strange. My kit showed up on May 22 with no US customs paperwork required, no notice of anything from FedEx other than shipping notifications. I wonder why some people are getting this info requested and some are not. I'm assuming Prusa is submitting the same information for all of them. I do have a FedEx account (personal, just for shipping management) if it makes any difference. Haven't gotten a bill or draft for import fees yet though.
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
Same here. I thought I was "special." Guess not!
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
Prusa likely figured it out, because I never in the past had to do any paperwork.
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
I just got a bill in the mail from FedEx for like $175…
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
Batch 2 here (Mk4s conversion). Supposed to start shipping May 14. I get that there are delays. We're beyond the batch 3 shipping start by a few days now as well. Mine still hasn't shipped. The really unfortunate thing is that starting June 1, our glorious leader (/s) is imposing 50% tariffs on the EU. So I'm getting screwed. Trying to decide if I want to cancel my order and get my money back at this point. Just so damn frustrated with my government. Ain't mad at Prusa - I knew what I was signing up for with them when I placed my order.
RE:
I'm in batch 3, so I'm likely going to get hit by the same. That means that ~$500 for a conversion kit plus build plate will cost me $750+. I'll chew on it for the next few days while I have time to change my mind. As stated elsewhere, I'd be happy to consider US options if they existed.
Consumer usage of 3d printing in the US will shrink (or at least not grow as fast) if US consumers have to pay fair US market value for this, and the silver lining might be less cheap trinkets being sold by opportunists.🤔 On the Chinese production side, I agree that prices are unfairly low, which is one reason why I chose to buy a Prusa, which I feel is fairly priced. The difference between Prusa and the Fusion3/Lulzbot options is another really big jump though. 🫤

RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
I thought the $800 deminimus was still in effect for everyone except China. Has that changed with the recent 50%?

A) I've lost track during the Trump Tariff Whiplash Contest.
B) My order was over $800, so I'm really confused.
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
I heard that it was going away but never looked into the details. I see that it should still be in effect everywhere except China/Hong Kong. 😅 That's a relief.

RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
I paid $94.90 as 10 percent of printer cost, plus an additional $29.42 for the 3.1 percent for it containing plastic or rubber under machining and manufacturing. Gives a total of $124.32 with no additional fees from Fedex or anyone else.
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
As of yesterday morning, there was going to be 50% tariff on everything from EU starting June 1. But then I read something later in the day yesterday that said he has agreed to a July 7 extension for negotiations to happen. Honestly, I just don't think any of us will really know until we get our shipments. No idea how Fedex and DHL are supposed to keep up.

RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
Just a follow up; FedEx charged my card for $130.48, which is 13.1% of my $996 purchase (Core One kit + satin sheet). I don't have the detailed bill but this is thankfully much lower than I was afraid it would be.

If your order is over $800 from anywhere in the world, expect to be hit with tariffs when shipping into the US. The deminimus is the value at which if your import is under the number (AFAIK, but I could be wrong, at the writing of this post is $800 for most of the world and $0 for China) then you won't be charged a tariff. Before the deminimus for China was eliminated was what made sites like Ali Baba, Wish, and Temu so super competitive. You were purchasing small orders from China and being the importer yourself, almost always under the deminimus limit so the items were import duty (tariff) free. If a shipping container from China was full of 100 $10 items and one person/company was importing them for resale here in the states, they would be paying a tariff on $1000 worth of goods. But if 100 individuals were importing those 100 items, then no one would be paying tariffs because each order was under the deminimus. That's also why it's sometimes called the "deminimus loop hole".
(That's also part of the reason why Prusa parts from PrintedSolid are more expensive than ordering directly from Prusa. PrintedSolid is paying a tariff to import their stock inventory in lots larger than the deminimus. But you ordering a couple print sheets from Prusa are getting them into the US way under the deminimus.)

RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
I've been looking for this from someone as well - I even started a thread on it in the General forum (General Forum Thread) but no one has shared yet. The customs process is such a mystery! I just want to know how much I'm going to pay lol. My kit is batch 7 and at least one batch 7 person has posted their kit shipped, so I might be able to respond to my own thread before too long..... 🙄
Can anyone who has had to pay the US Customs fee please share what that came up to for just the Core One Kit?
I've seen articles that it should be a 10% tariff for the next 90 days(starting April.2).Many thanks.

I found this a while ago and is pretty handy.
You can look up the specific HS here for what you're buying - https://help.prusa3d.com/article/vat-value-added-tax-customs-fees_1505#orders-outside-eu
But all printers are 84852000
It will not calculate any shipper specific fees (FedEx broker, etc), but it will give you the total duties.
RE: US Customs Policy Change - Good News!
I paid 144 on my Core One Kit.
