Toolhead parked position
Hello everyone,
I am (maybe stupidly) worried about where the toolhead parks after a print is done, namely the right back corner of the enclosure (as viewed from the front).
When assembling the printer we were told to put the print head in the front left position and make sure the pfte tube with the toolhead wire harness is not "too arced". But after a print is done, the toolhead moves to this (max x, min y .. I guess) position where the cable harness and pfte tube are very much arced. Is that a problem? If you finish a print and leave it like that potentially for days?
Maybe I am making a big thing out of nothing but I thought I'd ask.
Thank you very much.
RE: Toolhead parked position
I don't think this is a problem. The cables and PTFE tube get actively bent back and forth all the time during printing. Having them sit still in a bent position should not cause much weakening of the materials.
Also, you might be remembering the build instructions incorrectly? The only caveat regarding the routing of the tube and cables which I can find is in step 6.43: "Ensure the main cable is not too tight and does not pull the Nextruder backward." It's not about strain within the cable and PTFE tube itself, it's about pulling on the Nextruder (which could cause positioning errors during printing).
RE: Toolhead parked position
Hi Jurgen,
Thank you for your reply. I do forget and misremember things all the time, including this occasion.
I am indeed referring to that section (thanks for finding), just below what you pasted is the line I was attempting to reference
```
The main cable does not form an excessively large arc.
```
For me , it feels that in the parked position the arcs are quite pronounced and all of my prints so far never actually reach that position. It's helpful to know other people are using it just fine and it's not a problem. I suppose I can always change the gcode to park it somewhere else. If this discussion advances, next time I do a print I'll take a screenshot of my parked arcs and post here.
Thanks again.
