Before we get a definitive shipping update to our order page, is there any way to tell what batch you’re in?

I would suggest avoiding contact with their support for clarification.  You'll just encounter someone who is clearly as frustrated with you contacting them as we are with the lack of information being provided.
I cannot understand why they wouldn't spend 5 minutes updating their "Up-to-Date Shipping Information" page with actual up-t0-date information....
They're just frustrating their customers and (presumably) burying their support staff with a bunch unnecessary questions.

Based on what buyers of the assembled units have encountered, we'll get notification when they start shipping them.

It's a bit of a joke to be honest, the ordering and logistics you would think, would be first 25 orders are batch one, etc etc. So they could definitely say, here's your batch no, we don't have a date, but it would give some clarity to where you are in the scheme of things. Seemingly not though. We just have to accept that kits will start to be shipped in March, or not, depending on what happens, which is bloody odd.

absolutely agree. some pro active communication would be great. in my experience people don't get mad at orders being delayed, they get mad at lack of communication. and the communication here ist really disappointing.

a weekly update would be great.

Prusa have never been good with communication. Its the same issue with every single release - they just fail to communicate progress with their buyers. It wouldn't make anything any quicker, but it would help reduce a lot of frustration for buyers rather than just being kept in the dark. Unfortunately I don't think they will ever change - they certainly haven't learnt from previous releases!

Does anybody know when the CORE One kits are supposed to ship? I thought they were supposed to ship by march 1st.

I remember a while back something happened like this for the Prusa XL

No. The website never said March 1st. It said "starting in March". And for all we know, that might be 1 unit shipping on March 31st. Based on assemble unit batch delays, it would seem like the first kits are going to slip to April.

This whole thread is about that topic. Have a read!  😉

But no, the kits were never supposed to ship by March 1st. "Shipping is planned to start in March" is what Prusa always said, and continues to say on the product page. Based on the experience with other products, that means the first units will ship at the end of March if all goes well.

I talked with a chat agent a couple of months ago back in December. He said March 1 was the start date.

He was clearly misinformed or misinterpreted "starting in March" (which could mean March 1st). No one else has reported being told that, and clearly we're looking at late March. Have a read of this thread to get a better idea of what you're looking at.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

Prusa said the kit would ship by March.  This could be anytime between March 1st and March 31st.  The XL preorders started in November 2021 and didn't ship until about 18 months later.  That delay was a totally different due to lockdowns, supply chain and technical issues.  Additionally, a competing 3D printer company is announcing a new printer on March 25th.  I speculate (I could be wrong) that Prusa will take the opportunity to announce that the kit has started shipping around that other announcement.  Lots of companies play PR war during product releases.

That seems unlikely, because back in December they were still planning to ship upgrade kits first, and full Core One kits in the course of April.

That was recently revised to shipping in March according to the January 22, 2025 Prusa Blog update.

"The Prusa CORE One Assembly Kit is now scheduled for March 2025 and the Conversion Kit (MK4S->CORE One) will follow in April."

The timing may actually play out this way, but I don't think Prusa have planned for that. They could not have known the announcement date for the Bambu H2D much in advance -- it was expected to be earlier in the quarter, and there was a lot of speculation until they announced the date yesterday.

And Bambu Lab would (will?) steal Prusa's thunder, so it is not even desirable to announce at the same time. Bambu will reveal all kinds of technical detail about their new top-of-the-line printer, while all Prusa will have to announce is "the printer you already know will now be shipping as a kit".

Yes, that's why I wrote "back in December they were still planning...".

So, back in December, even a highly optimistic Prusa support agent should not have suggested a March 1st ship date for the full kits.

In the full context of that conversation, you are correct.  I try to respond with the most current information.
