Yeah - Batch 3 has started! They generated a FedEx Tracking ID for me. I wonder if Fedex will be able to deliver before the upcoming weekend to Germany.

We'll have a large family event next Saturday, but I would love to build on Sunday afternoon/evening...

When did you place your order?

Am also in germany but chose DHL for shipping, wondering if that makes a difference vs fedex...

Did the Fedex billing break this down into the actual duty and brokerage fees? I'm kinda curious how this gets charged out, as I'll be looking at the same thing. If it is only a 10 percent duty, that would put brokerage fees somewhere between 9-10 percent additional for Fedex acting as your import broker.

I just got my bill in the mail today, the 22nd, for a charge that hit on the 16th, for an order that arrived on the 15th.

Here is what Customs says.

Total entered value $949 * 10% = $94.90

+ "MACH AND MAN, PLASTIC/RUB 3.1% = $29.42

+ Merch processing fee .3464% = $3.29

Total Duty $124.32 + 'Other $32.71' = Ascertained Total $157.03

So it looks like Customs doubled the two other fees, plus 10% duty, plus a 'storage' fee by Fedex for $24.48 that brings me to $181.51

I placed my order GMT: Friday, 31. January 2025 20:38:40

Fedex has the delivery scheduled for tomorrow, 24.04. in the morning. I think that's rather quick and my core one is already in Nürnberg.

Thank you for posting how they broke that all down. Definitely answers how it ballooned well above the 10 percent I was expecting it to be. It is very much appreciated.

Can you ask them what Other is and why is it exactly double the misc customs fees? Seems like they shouldn’t be double counting that.

Hello, just wanted to update since my last post here, I have assembled the core one. appears fully functional but has constant reboots of printer issue. Had contacted support many times at this moment, replacing the power panic cable with a new one did not solve an issue, during last support session the support guy forwarded the issue to developers, asking whether issue might be in the xBuddy board, as I suspect it has a faulty connection somewhere, all cables connected to it were checked by me.

It arrived today, even though it was originally supposed to ship on April 25, 2025 (batch 3). So I don't know what you're complaining about. 🙂

That is a good idea, it does not seem legitimate to me.

Those fees, omg, storage fees like wtf, where else is it supposed to be during the transit....

Anyway, my Batch 1 kit arrived yesterday here in Sweden. So the father and son building project has started, its an incredible packaging system, much be so time consuming and expensive to make this self assembly possible, love it anyway even though its quite a bit more parts than my old MK3.

RE:

If it wasn't for their complete lack of instructions and explanation I would have had the form to them in a half hour, instead I searched the internet and needlessly called to get info they could have sent me without me asking. I had to call for them to send me the Docusign form. Then I had the form back to them about 2 hours after their tracking system notified me of the issue. The printer then sat for 6 days before moving despite me calling every other day.

On the plus side I am happily printing without a hiccup.

The printer then sat for 6 days before moving [...]

For which they duly charged you a "storage fee". Grmpf... 🙄

My printer kit (batch 3) got picked up today via FedEx. Happy it's finally on it's way, but I'm about to find out how much fun FedEx customs brokerage fees are for myself. I appreciate the heads-up on what to expect as it comes in. It definitely will make the process more bearable.

Nice. I'm roughly three weeks out, batch 5 shipping starts 14th May. Exciting times, and hoping later batches are less likely to suffer any issues found so far, but that's wishful thinking 😅

I'm in the same batch and feel the same as you.

Very grateful for others posting about problems encountered during the build and things to watch out for ☺️

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I did order a Core One Kit a while back, and I completely understand the excitement and anticipation you're feeling right now! I chose the kit because I was interested in building my own projects and learning more about electronics and programming in a hands-on way. The Core One Kit had positive reviews and seemed like a comprehensive option with various components that would allow me to explore different types of projects.

One thing I found beneficial during the wait was spending some time going through online resources and tutorials, so once the kit arrived, I could jump right into the projects. If you're new to electronics or coding, this might be a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with some of the basics or even plan out what kind of projects you might want to start with.

Once your kit arrives, I'm sure you'll find it was worth the wait. Feel free to share your projects or ask the community for tips and advice once you start building. Happy tinkering!

Sorry, but this reads like an AI-generated post, full of generic statements and inaccuracies. (The kit had positive reviews? Where? Learning about electronics and programming by building a Core One kit? Come on...)

Several of your other posts are even more typical of ChatGPT's style. What's the story here, please?
