RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
AND NOW STOP !!!
Always a tricky position if you have contributed to an off-topic discussion yourself, and then declare that yours should be the final word. But I agree, let's get back on topic.
RE:
Not sure how a debate on whether Prusa should/shouldnt be pushing US customers to the top of the Core One Kit waiting list is OT in this thread.
Obviously keep the politics out of it.
My opinion is they shouldn't be prioritised. It's completely unfair to non US customers.
Anyway, my kit arrived yesterday with DHL, a day earlier than expected.
I only got an hour or so on it yesterday (Stupid life got in the way)...hoping to either complete it or at least make a huge dent in it today.

Be careful what you wish for, there are a lot of sheet metal parts involved. 😉
Congratulations on receiving your kit -- have fun with it!
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
I do not think that they push the US to the top of the list. They might ship top one country on certain days of the week. I could be wrong but I noticed this based for posts for the Mk3 and Mk3S and the shipping my own orders. They tend to ship early to mid week no matter when I order.

Yeah you could be right.
What I noticed was that after mine shipped from Prusa, it seemingly sat at Prague DHL depot(possibly at airport) for 3/4 days, then 48 hours later I had it.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
Thanks! Just got a bit confused as I saw that message box was still not empty.
Parts and box so far look okay, but one handle of the box was broken.
And yeah, whole thing and metal parts are heavy :p
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
Yeah, I totally got too excited
While assembling the base and installing the front motor left it seems I have screwed the screw abit angled and stripped the threads.
Had a chat with support and his resolution was to print it on my Mini in PETG, I would do that but files will only be released in 1-2 days(his words)
So, as I was not feeling like waiting for 1-2 days, I decided to just put in the heated insert in the stripped threads place and it worked!

I just joined the list. Ordered Core One kit today. Have an original Mini. Looking forward to creating bigger and better things.

Good choice. Champagne !
Going from Mini to Core One will be a revolution for you.
Much bigger printing space and automatic calibration.
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
I saw those brackets in a tear down video someone did on Youtube. I am very curious how they can be improved upon. It seems a motor connection, rapid shear loading of the small screw threads, and risk like this during installation may be a source of Z issues. I am a 2/12 order, Batch 7, Ship May 26 person myself so it will be a bit before I can dig in. I may get the files when they're available and print a few out to test.

You mean those mounting plates for the Z steppers? I also thought they are a bit cheesy: I am not so much worried about shear force, but about the weight of the whole print bed assembly and print resting on those small self-tapped threads in plastic. I installed the stock plates anyway; if they should really fail at some point, they are quite easy to get to.
Contrary to what the gentleman in the teardown video suggested, I think they are not for sound dampening -- too stiff for that. Rather, they seem to be intended as flex joints, to allow the lead screws to tilt a bit and avoid Z jams as the bed climbs higher up.
There would be room to make those mounting plates a couple of millimeters thicker, I think, as long as you maintain the thickness of the flex links. Does the fact that Prusa did not make them ticker -- forfeiting the opportunity to add some thread length at no extra cost -- suggest that they had no concerns about the stability there?
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
General PSA: the Core One branded satin and textured sheets are now available for those of you who were waiting on the sheets. I spoke to Prusa support and if you have already added additional sheets and haven’t gotten your order you should be receiving the Core One branded ones.
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
It's a bit annoying that they weren't offered from the start. But I think I can live with that. The old version doesn't put me at a disadvantage.
RE:
Ordered on 31st 17:43:10 GMT, just changed to in progress. Let's hope that it will not take me 40 hours to build it 😀
I had just the core one kit in cart with additional textured sheet.
