RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

Idk; I'm new to the whole scene and this is my first 3D printer. Maybe others are right though in saying the shipping company matters--I chose shipping to the US via the FedEx Ground tier. Maybe try the chat support? I used them a few times to modify my order (couldn't personally edit for whatever reason) and they were very welcoming if not helpful. Hope it sorts out soon.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I confirmed this with chat support yesterday, and posted about it a few pages ago because I don't fully understand, how ordering an assembled version now will ship faster than a pre-ordered KIT from weks ago... when prusa could just... not assemble it and ship it instead 🤣 🤣  I guess they are making more money with the assembly and will prioritize that.

Ordered Feb 20. Shipping May 30. That's a long time. Perhaps I can better cancel and order the assembled version?

It depends. I explicitly selected the kit so I can build it myself and not have the surprise of having to figure out how the machine is constructed when I need to do any repairs on it. Also note that the assembled version includes a "new orders in April 2025" message. No idea what this means but looking at all other information it will be somewhere in May when new orders will be delivered.

Do you want to spend the extra € 300,- for getting your Core One just a few weeks earlier ?

Did anybody else notice the "cancel order" button disappeared from the order detail page? I had to go through the support chat to cancel my order instead. This meant a 20 minute wait and a person on their end having to cancel the order as opposed to just me clicking by myself. Not a big deal necessarily, but I thought it was odd.

Sadly, it's almost a  3 week long batch 1.
Could be tomorrow, could be another 2 weeks.

yes, same here. I was tempted to cancel and order an assembled one since it will arrive one month before (even ordering now). But didn't want to wait and go through support chat again :'(

I was in Batch 2, scheduled for shipping starting April 17, so I don't think that has anything to do with it, unfortunately.

Strange. I think they still have enough work to do with batch 1 orders and are not yet working on batch 2 😊

Generally the option to cancel an order is removed when it is nearing the final stages and getting ready to dispatch.....at least that's how it works with other places! As we know, Prusa have their own way of doing things!

I appreciate how busy Prusa must be right now, and I appreciate there are delays, unforeseen issues, and it generally takes time to fulfill the huge amount of orders they must have, but even so, I think a little communication is key. They would probably have lost many orders just down to buyer frustration, whereas a little communication on where buyers units are in the process could have reassured many customers. I recall saying the same with the MK4, and the MK4s, so I guess this will just never improve/change.......

I am also in Batch 1 and it is not shipped yet.

Turns out I made the mistake and ordered the Filter and Camera. -.-

Support confirmed that my shipping is ETA 1st of May and there is nothing I can do to speed up the delivery.

What a bummer....

Shipping in June and can't cancel either. Doesn't matter to me personally but I just want to verify that it doesn't seem related to whether it's close to ship or not 🙂

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

Now that it's no longer possible to change my order, I'm rather glad that I made a few changes when I did.  In the last couple of days I removed the camera (thinking I'll build my own from an ESP32), and I added the cooling fan parts to bring the cooling of my MK4 up to MK4S spec.

I suspect the option to edit the order was removed partly because of the possibility of abuse - there would have been nothing to stop someone in an early batch from, say, adding a couple more printer kits, with the thought of reselling them at a premium to people further down the queue.  That would clearly mess with the batch schedule. By preventing edits they're maybe attempting to lock down that schedule.

The cynic in me hopes that it hasn't been done merely to stop people spending their shipping refund vouchers on their pending orders!

Why not?

Is a pre-order you can always cancel until shipping

They must have sold a ton of kits.

Queues for the kits and the assembled printers seem to be similar in length -- both extend out to 3 months after the initial ship date, according to the ship date page.

We don't know Prusa's capacity for assembly vs. kit packaging, of course. But looking at the $300 price difference, packing must be significantly faster than building. So can we assume that they can ship more kits than assembled printers per day, and hence that they have received more kit orders than orders for assembled units?

This is going to be interesting to see. If I've got it correct, someone will potentially be getting their kit before Prusa fulfill all the batches of the assembled units. This might be the way Prusa has always conducted a launch, but I thought the assembled units were being fulfilled before the kits? Unless I've misread the wording? (Highly likely at my age)

In any event, people had a choice but it seems for some of us, we may get our kit before someone gets an assembled unit and I ain't going to complain about that 😉
