I am so pumped to get this thing. Let’s do this! Back to Prusa after a long gap, a foray into Bambu getting back into the swing of things on an A1 (a fantastic printer! Its printing right now even) and now that I feel like it was time to get back into a nicer printer that might not be a rock at any given moment.

I hadn’t looked at the Prusa map for a while and had no idea one of my neighbors (at least at one point) had an MK3S!

Anyway greetings from Austin, Texas! Glad to be back!

I think this will be prusa delivery shipping style.

"shipped".

1-2 weeks to handle by courier.

Hmm... no checking that the X gantry's mounting brackets are actually bent to 90° (which I would have expected around steps 5.6 to 5.9). No checking that the assembled gantry is orthogonal to the Y rails and touches both end stops at the same time (step 5.35).

It's no surprise then that some factory-assembled gantries are skewed. Or are these checks suggested elsewhere in the instructions?

Yep, this and no check of the correct alignment of belt in the center of the idlers.
Those two steps could induce many issues if not well done.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I patiently waited for April, as many people claimed that Prusa’s "promise" was about starting kit shipments in March and that we just needed to be patient. Well… aside from a few misleading posts, I have seen no evidence of any kits actually being shipped to customers.

Moreover, I still find it embarrassing for a company (not just Prusa, but any company) to show a complete lack of transparency or forecast regarding the shipping of already paid orders. I wasn’t expecting my order to ship in March, but I did and still do expect a clearly visible estimated shipping date.

Even on Kickstarter, for concept-stage projects, communication around order fulfillment is better… they usually announce expected delivery years in advance and might be off by a month at most. Here, it's downright embarrassing — seeing “TBA” on an order paid on February 7th, for a product already on the market, is simply unacceptable.

The only reason I went with Prusa is because my son wanted one… otherwise, our fourth printer would have been (and frankly, if it were up to me, still would be) a Bambu Lab.

I get the feeling Prusa is going to be left with only a small niche in the consumer 3D printer market… I mean, Creality might have over 40% market share (yes...another segment/target but anyway >40% in value), Bambu Lab probably already holds more than 25% (and they are probably on the same segment/target), and I doubt Prusa even reaches 10% today. And if this is how they handle the launch of a new product that’s supposed to help them stand out from the competition, then I’m afraid the future doesn’t look bright at all.

Is it just me, or is the translation incomplete?

I wonder if ordering the printed manual and assembly instructions can delay the dispatch. I think it may, especially for other langauges than English, which indeed look incomplete.

That's the added value of this forum! Now I know where to pay extra attention. And I guess by the time I'm at that stage the comment section in the manual will mention it or the manual may even be updated.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

The trouble with writing instructions when you know what they need to say is that you know what you know, but it's super hard to not k ow what you know.  Hopefully any critical steps will get refined before mine get shipped.
