RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I think there were concerns that the camera from the existing order would now suddenly delay the Core One kit for another 11-12 weeks, which of course would not be the case unless you add the camera now.

I think support has a lot to do with worried customers at the moment 🙂

That is what support told me.  Then again, the ship date could change.

As of now, Core One kits are still on target for shipping towards the end of this month.

Naturally, adding additional components also depends upon availability of those parts, so could delay your kit order (they will be sent in the one delivery), so only add items that are available if you can (if you want your kit asap)

No, you can remove items and not alter your place in line.  Went though this with my MK4 order.

You can indeed - although if you add additional items and those items are suddenly out of stock or not available when your kit is ready to ship, it could delay the entire order......

And that's why I have an upgrade kit order and an "other stuff" order.  I don't see this as having a different shipping price as the kits normally exist in a box on their own.

I think the system should work in such a way that availability at the time of purchase is taken into account. For example, if I added a nozzle to my core one order that was available, it should be "reserved" when the item is shipped in a package. Even if the nozzle is no longer available at the time of shipment. After all, all items have already been paid for. I don't think anything else would be correct. I hope you understand what I mean.

Or rather, for example, if I have added a nozzle to my core one order that was available at the moment of purchase, there should automatically be one less nozzle available in the system's stock, so that I still get the nozzle at the time of dispatch, even if the nozzle is currently no longer available in the store page. This is perhaps easier to understand. Sorry for the double post.

I have canceled my Buddy cam from the kit order. You can edit your order!

Then you get the money back for the cam

I ordered the cam individually afterwards. Whether it comes in May or June, so I don't care😉

I can confirm that as I just canceled the buddy can from the kit order. Order date remained as it was.

I have just done the same and cancelled the buddy cam and the filtration unit - order date stayed at early Feb but order status is new order, hoping that I haven't been sent to the back for being a naughty boy 😁 🤞

Is there any word on the advanced filtration?  I'm willing to wait a few extra days for the Buddy cam but if the filter is pushed out to April I may need to separate it.

RE:

I have a camera in the same order as my kit, and just tried to get an answer as to whether the camera was liable to hold up dispatch of the order.

Long story short, they couldn't really tell me. I was advised:

"I would recommend waiting for the shipping table, which will be released after we start shipping the kits. Then we should know for sure"

I further questioned if a camera would not have been reserved for orders that have been made and already paid for, and got told:

"I am not sure how exactly does it work. It is not as easy as putting one aside for your order. There is some kind of algorithm which should reserve one for you, but if you printer is not scheduled to be shipped for 2 weeks and there is a new batch of cameras getting delivered to us, then we ship it and reserve one from the new batch. It is designed to maximize the volume of shipped orders."

I guess I'll just need to wait and see what happens when the shipping table is published. I'm reluctant to have to move the camera to a new order and end up paying a separate shipping cost for that, but will do so if need be. Presumably to do that would also put me to the back of the queue for a camera.

To me, the support answer reads a bit like: "No need to worry about that camera. Neither you nor we have any idea when your printer will ship." 😉

I ordered a buddy cam in a separate order one day after I ordered my Core One kit. The order for the camera says "Expected to ship between 3/22/2025 and 3/28/2025", so I'm expecting a message telling me the camera has shipped any day now

I understand if people would like a camera to monitor their new printer, but by all reports, it's a bit crap anyway isn't it?

Only the customers can decide if it is worth delaying their order or not, but it's not worth the hassle IMO.

I have a sneaking suspicion the reported low update rate of the camera is due to the poor wifi implementation on the Core One itself. So either they manage to improve on that with a firmware update (hopefully soonish), or otherwise I'll just connect the camera to the raspberry pi running Octoprint directly.

The camera has its own wifi. This does not run over the Core One's wifi.

But the Core One firmware has nothing to do with the camera? The camera does its own WiFi transmission; it only gets its power supplied from the Core One. The frame rate limitations are probably imposed deliberately to limit the downstream data rate to the servers and app.

Edit: Prusa really needs to add a solution for streaming locally at the full frame rate.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I just got off from the chat with a staff menber. I asked if my order (feb 10th) will be in the first batch. He said that they did not even start the production of the kits and therefore no batch is assigned yet.

Very disapointing since the store-listing still says that the first batch will ship in march
