RE: Shipping dates
This has always been my main issue with their system. Taking full payment up front and then keeping customers in the dark about expected ETA of their fully paid for item.
I appreciate how inundated Prusa are with orders. I appreciate they are doing their best to get orders through the doors and into customers hands. And while I also appreciate that you are able to get a refund if you decide to cancel relatively easily, I still do not see why they need FULL payment without any ETA being provided.
If I pre-order something from Amazon, or many other online stores, payment is taken when the item is dispatched. Prusa should also take this approach.
For example, I've pre-ordered a PS5 game that isn't due for release until March. While a check was done on my card to ensure funds were available, I haven't actually been charged for the item yet. My card will actually be charged, and funds taken, when it dispatches......maybe Prusa should implement such a system, otherwise it feels like a huge, unofficial, KickStarter campaign!.......
While its true they said "shipping starts in January", this is a completely meaningless statement, especially when "compliance" with their promise to them means shipping just a handful of printers on january 31 as they seem to have done.
AFAIK, if prusa wants to collect full payment up front, it is legally required (in th EU at least) to give specific shipping info.
https://preproduct.io/are-pre-orders-legal/
In Germany: Precise delivery dates must be specified
France: Specific delivery timeframes must be stated
If they did not know when it was gonna ship, they shouldnt have collected the full amount up front. And if they did know, and februari / march was the plan all along, they should have said so.
Its really not a lot to ask from a company that prides itself on ethics and customer support to at least respect the law (and its customers).
RE: Shipping dates
The spirit of the age. Right now!
I have a company, I make a product that has about 700 parts and my guys have to assemble it. The product is for retail.
It's unbelievable that most people have no idea how things work. They order my product, which I have in stock, and they expect someone to come and assemble it for them tomorrow. When I say we're coming back in a month because I have a lot of orders, they're pissed.
They start telling me I have bad management.I could hire more people, expand production but worse times will come and then what? Let everyone try to invent a product, arrange production, employ people, create a warehouse, assemble and serve customers who want everything best yesterday 🙂
I ordered CORE on 12/23 a month after the announcement so I figured if they start at the end of January I would get the printer in about 4-6 weeks from the start of shipping and I was right so all is well. 🙂
Maybe they should work on one thing with Prusa and that is that they shouldn't charge full price. I collect a 30% deposit (which is refundable at any time) and get the rest paid after delivery.
RE: Shipping dates
Even if I order it in Dec 2025? 😋
See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
RE: Shipping dates
Sure hope many cancel, especially those waiting for one in the week of 10 February... Makes mine quicker. Hey lets be fair, they did a heck of a lot better than with the SLS, for which I waited a month more than expected.
RE: Shipping dates
Finally, shipping estimates:
RE: Shipping dates
Yeah, speeding us up and then re-order as soon as they found out they made a big mistake 😁 I‘am more than happy with the shipping scenario! Can’t wait to open my box 📦 pretty soon.
RE: Shipping dates
First time Prusa buyer here, ordered on Jan 14th, delivery window starts March 24th. I'm not complaining.
People are too used to the Amazon instant shipping world. If you're making a command for an item and the item still has to be manufactured/built then it is normal for it to take a while. Eg I bought a bed and a wardrobe and they were delivered seven weeks later when they were actually made.
I took part in the openmoko project 17 years ago and supplier shortages meant shipping dates were pushed back a few times.
If you order a new car then be prepared to wait - German automobile club ADAC states average wait times for ICE cars as 8.8 months and for BEV as 5.2 months, for some special cars up to 22 months.
Ordering something and then having to wait for it to be built for you is not strange, it's how things work in the build-on-order world.
If you're used to only ordering ready made mass produced items from the shelf and thought the Prusa would be the same then it's understandable you'd be disappointed with the wait, but I think it was possible to find out beforehand that that wasn't the case (as did I and so I knew what to expect before paying).
RE: Shipping dates
I'm sorry, I use a translator.
I just wanted to say I'm not sorry, knowing how the brand works. But I consider it not very serious. We look like beta testers, that's how I felt with the MK4, that's how I feel now. I am very happy to buy European products, but I would like a little more seriousness...
RE: Shipping dates
Just got a mail, that my core one is shipped, ordered at 19-11
RE: Shipping dates
I also ordered on 11/19 but nothing yet.
RE: Shipping dates

RE: Shipping dates
Ordered 11/19. Mine currently shows in progress and “Shipping starts: 1”
RE:
This is basically a 20/11 order, but was upped with another Core One on 13/12. I asked to stay in line with the edit. So, that may be the count for both orders, so either weeks or days 😱 Lets see what others have as lucky numbers.
For clarification: 20/11 order was refunded and the 13/12 opened, hence the confusion
RE: Shipping dates
I now have a label saying "shipping starts in 3" ..... hum ... not sure what to make of this.
RE: Shipping dates
Whatever that means. A friend of mine just posted his screenshot "Charge: 5", ordered mid-january. Lol, at least I cannot make sense out of these cool new countdowns.
RE: Shipping dates
But at least I came up with the same idea yesterday on my own to mitigate some "confusion" around us all. Just state the number of orders before you that are still being prepared and let us have fun working through a non chronical count down. Wouldn't hurt, wouldn't give anything away, but keep us busy.
RE:
Is there already information about what the kit's will be sent?
Or will it be like with the construction printer 31 of the month?
My order now says Batch 1
