RE: Shipping dates
I'm not really sure what some of you guys want Prusa to do.
Should they be like Apple and stockpile a warehouse of printers to be delivered all on the same day?
or
Should they ship them as soon as they build them ensuring we get them as fast as possible?
Option A has us wait potentially months while being a huge financial risk to the company.
Option B has people complaining in threads such as this but we get the printers faster
I mean yea they could always scale up their operation to make them faster but we are talking about a company based in the EU, paying good wages, being great for the community all while trying to compete with China who let us be honest is anywhere from heavily subsidizing their industry to downright slave labor. Like the margins are pretty thin you guys
TLDR: Chill
I've got one ordered and I want it like you have no idea just like the rest of you, but cmon

I would have appreciated more transparent and honest communication in handing of the order, nothing more. 😕
I know i'm in a minority, but the current status is just not for me. I have cancelled my built-core-one for now, with an expectation only of a refund.
Conversion kit for my MK4S by mid year? Yes please! 👍

RE: Shipping dates
The delivery plan from prusa is a joke... 10 dez. ordert and comming 10 of March... sorry, that is very bad. i will cancel and order a Bamboolab... that is cheaper and available and functions are ok..
Prusa will be work with my money and at the end i receive a beta printer...
Have fun with your Bambulab Printer.
And watch out for Firmware updates that takes away functionality and bind you to their Software 😉
RE: Shipping dates
I am simply disappointed. When I ordered on the 10th of December I was shown that it would arrive in January. That's what I thought. Great, then I'll need a new printer by the end of January. In January they changed that and said if you order today it will arrive in March.
Now I read the order summary and it says that if I order on the 10th of December, I will get the printer on the 10th of March. So Prusa has been working for free with my money for 3 months. That's not right. Apple doesn't charge my credit card until the parcel is packed. Why does Prusa do it differently? Also, I am getting a printer that does not have MMU support yet. I had to wait over 6 months for the MK4 because Prusa was too slow. The MMU has never worked properly.
Prusa should finally be told what customers expect.
Now it's just cancelled and that's it... Maybe Josef will finally realise that he can't treat customers like this.
RE: Shipping dates

They haven't been working for free with anything. I don't know where this comes from, but they aren't out partying and buying inane things with peoples money. It takes money to make these machines, and you will (or would have) gotten your machine since you paid them money. They might not have gotten it to you in the time frame that you think is acceptable, but they would get it to you. You paid them for a product, they would have sent you the product had you not cancelled.
A lot of companies take payment prior to goods delivery.
RE: Shipping dates
It's Part of the deal to purchase something NOT made in China with its labor history. YES I am upset having ordered two days after announcement not reviewing until maybe Feb BUT I understand and KNOW it's well worth the wait and part of the deal. I'd rather wait for quality than gamble on others.
RE:
"When I ordered on the 10th of December I was shown that it would arrive in January."
Maybe you miss understood something.
They never told you that you will receive your order in January.
They clearly told you that delivery starts in January.
And that is true, a lot of people already got one.
My order was from 21.11 and for this order slot delivery starts 10.2.
Just wait.
And why do you think that any prusa is beta especially the core one?
I guess because you did not know what prusa sells in the B2B market.
You are aware that you can upgrade a 10 year old mk3 in a straight line to an core one?
This is a kind of ownership you will never see from a Chinese mass producer.

This is a thread about shipping; there was a question and I answered from my perspective. Unqualified? With respect, wrong.
Trying to keep it cordial and polite has not been easy my friend. Take care x 👍
Machs gut x 👍

RE: Shipping dates
It doesn't matter. Prusa is finished for me. I'm not buying printers from China either. I'll just keep using my MK4 until it falls apart and see which company makes printers that work well.
I like it when manufacturers make products in Europe and I'm happy to pay for it, even if it costs more. Because jobs here are important for our future. But not if I'm treated like this. Then I just walk away and understand that these companies don't want my money.
RE:

Prusa told everyone clearly "SHIPPING STARTS in January".

Honestly there's no sense in continuing to reply to them. They've made their decision and informed everyone (multiple times at this point) of it. They obviously are wanting to be upset about it and nothing is going to change that. You won't change their mind so it's best to just let them be.
I for one am looking forward to getting my printer whenever it arrives, and until then I'll just keep doing as I'm doing.
RE: Shipping dates
It should be a simple requirement for a European company to treat customers fairly. I hope you have fun with the printers. I'm out.
RE: Shipping dates

I agree with others that your expectation of receiving the Core One in January was based on your misunderstanding of the clearly stated "shipping will start in January" forecast. But I agree with you that Prusa's pre-payment policy is pushing things a bit too far.
I could understand a 20% down-payment -- to make sure that people don't place orders on a whim. I could also understand a pre-payment in full for items which are on the shelf or have a week or two of lead time -- to avoid the hassle and cost of collecting money from some people who would otherwise pay late. But a 100% pre-payment, 3 months in advance, with a risk of further delays since the new product is not even fully tested yet? Come on, Prusa. If you need to pre-finance a new manufacturing batch, that's what banks are for, not your customers.
RE: Shipping dates
"Starts shipping in January" doesn't lift the obligation to keep paying customers informed of the status of their orders on an ongoing and timely basis.
Why can't this simple thing be acknowledged? All the arguments about cancelled orders and "They owe me big time!" aren't really the point nor I think the majority position.
Could they have let me know, before 1/31, that my order was going to be in X batch and not front of the line?
I'm fine with waiting, just give me all the information you have about my order as soon as you have it. I waited from 11/21 to 1/31 to hear anything at all and that's literally my entire issue.
RE: Shipping dates
From my experience add about 4 weeks to the initial date.
So if the page shows 10 Jan, then expect to get a package about a month later in February.
It probably depends on which batch your order ended and to which country it is delivered.
The forum dumped me back in time to this post, and maybe it was optimistic?
I’m a Prusa Fanboi. Proudly tell people about my five printers and show them what they can do.
Having said that, Prusa is the world’s worst product launcher in the consumer electronics area. It’s in their DNA. They early-announce, then under-deliver and drag things out. They do it everytime. After the XL, I’ve just given up trying to be an early receiver of their printers. WAY better to wait six months, and still wait a month to get it because the initial fixes or even an ‘S’ version will be out, or everything will be turned on.
In all other companies, it would be a serious problem that got people fired, but in Prusa, its a culture thing that people make excuses for. Maybe they thought that ‘launching’ it when they did that they could get some X-mas gift sales based on delivery better.
At least for the Mini & Mk3, they had shipping tables of order versus shipping dates. I’m not seeing it.
I thought that they weren’t going to charge until shipping? I thought I saw that when it came out and I looked at ordering one.
RE:
While its true they said "shipping starts in January", this is a completely meaningless statement, especially when "compliance" with their promise to them means shipping just a handful of printers on january 31 as they seem to have done.
AFAIK, if prusa wants to collect full payment up front, it is legally required (in th EU at least) to give specific shipping info.
https://preproduct.io/are-pre-orders-legal/
In Germany: Precise delivery dates must be specified
France: Specific delivery timeframes must be stated
If they did not know when it was gonna ship, they shouldnt have collected the full amount up front. And if they did know, and februari / march was the plan all along, they should have said so.
Its really not a lot to ask from a company that prides itself on ethics and customer support to at least respect the law (and its customers).
RE: Shipping dates
Well, after sometime I decide not to buy the Core one Kit versión.
I will buy it but in future, when the fever for Core One goes down, or Core One goes to Core One+, but in stock or with a shipment lapse of a week.
This come's after some single questions, what can I do know with a Core One that I can't do with a MK4S?. Do I need an additional 3d printer? Which are the advantages of Core One over MK4S and how much does those advantages impact on my 3d printings?.
So with the answers, I decide it no to buy know, because I don't like to wait for a product for which I have paid.
More health, less complains.
Best Regards.
RE: Shipping dates
It will ship before dec 2025.
