To each, their own. I actually use it to calibrate the printer.
And feel if I don't something bad will happen...

So what is next?
What are some of the first things we should print on the PRUSA COREOne? {beside an army of snowmen}
Your own designs, of course. The thrill of solving problems with other people's shared (often imperfect) solutions will wear off fairly quickly and leave you feeling constrained. If you haven't already, it's worth taking the time to learn Fusion or Onshape (parametric CAD) so that you can begin creating your own solutions. Of course if you care more about figurines and such then maybe learn Blender instead. Ultimately, 3d printing is about being empowered to create things. The only way to keep that truly open ended and continuing to feel the joy is to further empower yourself in the design arena.
I'm not a master of CAD, but I've created multiple solutions for things both at home and at work. The design part is really enjoyable, and the satisfaction you get with a final draft solution is what keeps 3d printing exciting.

THE THRILL REMAINS - so I upgraded from my ENDER3 (2018) to a PRUSA MK3+/MMU3 (2023) to my new PRUSA COREONE !
Printables has a lot of fun designs.
Right now we are in a holiday mood, so Hank's Snowman Army is getting printed while I test out the printers new capabilities. The 'EASY PRINT' feature is AWESOME !

Getting a 3D printer to print bling parts for ones 3D printer is always a fun circular loop.

Ah, you can check out my master 2-color nameplate design (March 2023)... It got all of 49 downloads and 6 likes on 307 views.
I will probably stay with Fusion/Blender... I might check out ONSHAPE.

These are (in my view) the types of "hobbyist" printer owners. They are not mutually exclusive meaning you can be a combination of all or you can just be one.
- The Builder - likes to make their own printer from a kit, uses it briefly then once the novelty wears off, it goes into a dark closet
- The Tinkerer - blings out their printer with every conceivable mod and every once in a while will dust off the printer to print the latest nozzle wiper or purge bin. Has an extensive nozzle collection.
- The Collector - here be dragons and other nick-knacks.
- The Maker - learns a CAD program and creates their own designs.
- The Farmer - creates a small print farm for selling their own designs or printing other's designs

Sad story on that particular design (Take 3)
That version was made for a coworker who wanted his name in Hex. He was a DCS Control engineer. Young guy. He posted it up on his door.
He passed last year (2024) from a heart attack. They had the name plate out at his funeral.

You left out. 6. The Flyer- creates prints so that they can fly them around... then crash them into the ground.

What kind of rockets? I’ve been watching a bit of bps.space on YouTube, blows my mind what he gets up to.

Currently at Level 1. Max height is typically around 1-3K meters depending on the motor (and rocket). They don't look all that different to the Estes stuff I used to make as a kid, just a lot more powerful. To reach the various levels of certification the rocket has to basically not break apart on launch and have a successful parachute deployment and survive a landing. The rockets have to be handmade. Can be a kit or scratch.
What's really fun is printing a rocket in PA-CF and having it split on launch along layer lines. So I'm learning the importance of printing stuff at 45° angles and annealing. Currently designing a rocket for Level 2 certification

a: Such as Essential or Bling addons for the Core ONE
Is there an exceptional tool holder for the tools?
Perhaps the CoreONE+ upgrades (but at $9.99 I will probably buy those with some more filament)
Is the new spool holder nice/better? the revised spool feed? the auto open/close vent?

Obviously the Snowmen. That is a great design

The very first thing I printed was a Benchy followed by a set of skew rods and a calibration cube. Then I realized my gantry was not perfectly square. Then I printed a 2 layer square covering the print sheet to check for proper bed leveling. Then I don't remember the rest but it was mostly printer mods like this (which I subsequently threw away): Prusa Core One Side Storage followed by this: Prusa Core One Magnetic Top Cover with Integrated Vent Handle

Good point, I should bite the bullet and make some calibration checkers... This Clearance Gauge by lostintech looks interesting.
