Interesting, I will buy one as soon as I can.

Now when do we see INDX?

It looks like the new HT hotend works with regular Core One and Core One+. I am guessing Core One+ will have a few of the Core One L upgrades. I am looking forward to more news.

https://www.prusa3d.com/product/prusa-core-one-to-core-one-upgrade/ only $10, but not much to it.

So we can just print the parts ourselves? obviously adding a few fasteners?
Otherwise the shipping from Prusa will be double the upgrade price lol.

Blimey £189 for the hotend?

I guess if you need those filaments in your life then its good the option is there.

now I am wishing for a core one++ with all the really cool stuff (INDX, etc)...

And yes you can do-it-yourself: "You can either download the free print-it-yourself files from Printables or purchase the official upgrade kit from our e-shop."

Yeah I dont need 400 degree hotend....it's the INDX I really need.

Nice to see that they are making the automated vent operation official. (Although it will mean an early end of any Prusameters for my version...) I was a bit concerned that it might conflict with the INDX operation, which must also involve driving the print head all the way to the front.

seeing the pictures of the INDX-augmented core one, the current top is going anyway, so I guess this is a mod that will last until we see how the chamber will be closed with the feeding tubes of the INDX system coming in from behind and bending above the current metal frame.

Hah !  Finally >300C hot end !!!  Thank you, I will now procrastinate longer to get the bigger printer online 😀

Duh, right... of course the whole top is going to change with the INDX solution. Let's hope we will get a lid at all!

Hey they managed to close the XL, I'm sure they'll manage this one 😉 otherwise I have a roll of ABS that I always wanted to put to productive use, 4 new walls and reuse the plexy top!

Awesome! Potential game changer for Core One owners like me.

Couldn't have hoped for better news.

And I can disable hi-temp, obviously secure by removing the hotend, when printing "normal" filament that might pose a fire hazard with incorrect settings.

Now all we need is an official active chamber heater option for the Core One, to keep those advanced filaments happy. Or go with the Creality heater as discussed in some other thread.

Ive been waiting for an official upgraded hotend to fit high end filaments, this was a bit over the top price wise and temp wise. But might jump on it anyway in lack of other solutions,  costs like a low end 3d printer 🙂

Although this is great since I've been wanting to print PPS to use on my model rockets, the others such a PEEK etc require a much higher chamber temperature than the C1 is capable of reaching. I've also been printing PPA-CF but only at the lower end of the temp range (290C) which is causing layer problems. I would have liked to have seen an active heater chamber. This Core One + is a bit underwhelming.

True, even though I might get away with it printing only small functional parts like gears (disclaimer, haven't tried any material more advanced than ASA/ABS/PETG).

So let's wait for the new line of (not strictly cheap 🙂 ) Prusaments specifically made for this corner case ... just guessing, of course.

ChatGPT thinks there may be some benefit in the following materials. If not true, please do correct - as said I haven't tried "advanced" polymers but I'm chalking out the path for the next few years:

  • PA-CF / PA-GF (Nylon composites) because the fibers moderate the shrinkage over the base material
  • PC-Blend & PC-CF - thinks it's a good match because specifically formulated for low-temperature chambers
  • High-temp PET/PET-CF - chamber not critical as they don't warp very much
  • ABS-CF / ABS-GF (less warping from fibers, apparently "ABS" chemistry can be modified to tolerate higher temps)
  • High-temp co-polyesters (CPE-HT, Colorfabb HT) same as High-temp PET/PET-CF
  • Industrial TPUs (high-temp formulations)

As said, mostly AI input so fire away 🙂

RE: New Core One+ with 400C Hot End

PA-CF and PA-GF don't really need super high nozzle or chamber temps and can be annealed afterwards. Same with the PC based materials. For me the 400C hot end opens the door for PPS which I've been wanting print for a while. I also have a roll of PPA-CF but at 290C I can just barely get usable prints from it since I'm using a Diamondback nozzle.
