Modified Spool Holder to align filament tube?
I have noticed when printing, even more so with cardboard filament spools, that there is a faint "chunking" sound. When I watch closely, I can see that the design of the filament intake is almost past the outside edge of the filament spool. This means that there is constant force dragging the spool against the outside edge of the spool holder. And since the cardboard has more friction than the plastic spools, the chunking noise is louder.
While it may seem nice, with the current design, to keep the spool fully nested inside the outside-edge of the printer chassis, I personally do not care.
Has anyone found a modified (longer) spool holder, that permits the filament intake tube to be closer to the middle of a filament spool?
Yes, I know, this is not a big deal, and is not something to worry about. I am simply curious.
Cheers,
Neal
