RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Because right now only the kits for the new display gets shipped... I have modified my order to be for the new xLCD module and ordered a display.
Don't wanna wait till July... And as soon as my order was changed it changed its state to "processed"
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
If they'd make the rear cover available on printables then maybe folks could simply print the part and use the MK4S front one for now, updating later.

so i got batch 1 and i noticed on the shipping table page it now says for new xlcd. well what the hell? now how long do i have to wait for the old xlcd version?
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
I don’t understand why Prusa doesn’t let us buy the new XLCD at a discount, instead of making users wait longer every time there’s an upgrade. The same thing happened with the MK4-to-MK4S upgrade… and yet, in theory, the people stuck with the old XLCD are exactly those who bought from Prusa on day one. Bah…

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Only reason I can think of is they want to keep their component stock levels for all their current orders healthy, and will most likely offer the parts for sale at a later date when they have satisfied their current demand.......
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Well they sell the new xLCD module - but still at normal price instead say "Hey you wanna convert a MK4S to a CoreONE? Here you go - 10% off for the new xLCD module so you get the full upgrade."
What also is a little disturbing is the fact that there was no announcement that the kits with the old xLCD module don't get shipped directly because there is still some things todo.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
You can buy the LCD already, it is the same one as used on the XL and MK4, it shows in stock. But it is a bit pricy to just order one when you have a working one, just with the connections in a different place.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
That is what I did.

I couldn't agree more. Leaving sustainability arguments aside for a moment, I don't see why I should pay for a new display that has zero advantages over my current one. I must blame Prusa here (and I don't do that often) for selling something and then treating it as a 2nd class citizen when it comes to updates etc etc. I don't think it would have taken a lot of additional engineering to create a back cover that accommodates both versions of the display back in the mk4s upgrade time and, more so, now. In worst case, build a 10cents adapter cable to transform the old into the new and allow for it in the mold of the new back cover. This would have put an end to the "old vs new" discussion. ok, I did vent. Now waiting for the kit to ship to see what we "old display because we bought the mk4 at the beginning" folks are getting...

I have to agree with you there, they should have learned this lesson from the MK4S upgrade.

RE:
I would be satisfied if they simply stated up front that owners of the old XLCD are going to be treated as “second-class” customers. In my case, for instance, I would have made a different choice had I known I’d be waiting who knows how long—especially after putting more than €400 down for the upgrade.
And if someone’s happy to spend another €100—on top of the €480 already paid—just to get the new upgrade a bit earlier and end up with a CoreXY that’s nothing special, good for them. With €600 I could buy a Bambu P1S—or almost two Carbon Centauri printers, just to give you an idea.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
So you think the company should buy you a new LCD because your printer has an older display? They could do better with expectation management, but they do not owe you a discount or free display.

personally, I don't want a new display (discounted or otherwise), I want 'the firm' to treat the old style display a bit better and fix the disparity in treatment at the source. I don't believe that there are only 5 customers that got the old-style display ... so why not engineer things to cover both ?

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
You could try if this fits. I made this when I upgraded my MK4 to MK4S. It fits on the older version of the MK4 xLCD display and on the Original Prusa Enclosure, perhaps it will work for the Core One upgrade as well?
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
As I’ve already said, I expected clearer communication instead of the same play they used with the MK4-to-MK4S upgrade.
I’d like to add—humbly—that many of those with the old display are early adopters loyal to the brand, people who bought the MK4 sight unseen. I’m not asking for the new display to be free, but they could at least be transparent about shipping times and maybe offer a concrete alternative, such as letting us buy the display at a discounted price for example.
Alternatively, a simple email would suffice: tell us that, rather than April, the “unlucky” owners of the old display will have to wait weeks or even months longer—and give us the option to cancel the order and receive a refund in a few days instead of weeks (something I already experienced when I cancelled my XL order).
As of today, anyone with the old display still has no idea when shipments will start ( https://help.prusa3d.com/article/shipping-information_2297). All this does is infuriate the most loyal customers—people like me.
Please take this as constructive criticism: if they keep going this way, they risk going belly-up, and that would be a shame. I hope they read messages like this and rethink how they treat their customers. sry for the ot

I am too. I purchased the Core One conversion kit on 31/01/2025.
I think (hope) it won't be long now.

I just took a look at my order status. I'm batch 1 with an older display. Still showed batch 1 starts May 1 2025.
I went in to look at editing my order, I noticed this.
"The estimated start of shipping for old xLCD version of Conversion Kits is in week of May 19th."
So I'm not sure if they tried to notify the customers, and they screwed something up.
Personally, I think they should have made an announcement, or at a bare minimum, sent out an email notifying everyone.
So I'm going to hold off buying a new display and wait until the week of May 19th.
