Mk4 to Mk4S to Core1
I have the Mk4S upgrade kit for my Mk4, as yet not installed. I will probably purchase the Core1 upgrade kit when available shortly.
I am wondering how much disassembly is needed for the Mk4S to Core1 and whether I should therefore do a 2 step upgrade or just wait for the 4S to Core1 and do the lot in one go using both kits to go from Mk4 to Core 1.
RE: Mk4 to Mk4S to Core1
I would expect it to be almost a full disassembly to do the upgrade to the Core One.
RE:
I figured out you will need from MK4 to Core One (from MK4S upgrade):
NFC set (maybe optional) https://www.prusa3d.com/product/nfc-set/
WiFi adapter (maybe optional) https://www.prusa3d.com/product/wi-fi-adapter/
blower fan https://www.prusa3d.com/product/print-fan-blower/
No printed parts needed unless you want idler from PC-CF 🙂
RE: Mk4 to Mk4S to Core1
I'm also expecting a pretty much full disassembly of the MK4s to upgrade to the Core One.
At this point, if you're running the MK4 I would hold, with MK4s kit parts aside, and then jump straight to the Core One, as you'll have pretty much all the necessary parts ready and waiting. Makes no sense to upgrade to the MK4s (even though MK4>MK4s is an easier upgrade with less disassembly), and then find yourself disassembling everything again in order to upgrade to the Core One......

RE:
I'm waiting for Prusa to publish the upgrade manual for converting the MK4 to Core One. Once it's available, I'll buy only the specific parts needed for the conversion kit.
The most expensive component is the HF nozzle, but since I use MMU3 and Prusa doesn't recommend using the HF nozzle with it, I can skip that purchase and save some money. And also you can disable HF nozzle from menu so this is a double win 😀
RE: Mk4 to Mk4S to Core1
There's no direct upgrade from MK4 to Core One, so the guide will be for the MK4s to Core One, but even then you should be able to use that to gather parts together.
I also removed the HF nozzle once I installed the MMU3. I didnt think the HF nozzle made much of a difference for me anyways, so I didnt miss it at all. Just remember to switch it off in the printer settings!
