Initial order - Must add accessories
Hi all, Prusa newbie here, located in Australia. I am about to order the Core One (Assembled unit). Are there any must have accessories or spares to add to the initial order? Things like spare nozzles etc. I have added a textured plate, camera and a ObXidian Nozzle (0.4mm) to the shopping cart already. Due to shipping costs I am trying to not have to re order straight away the things I may not be able to get locally. Thinking maybe hardened steel nozzles?? Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

I guess it could be anything. I prefer a satin sheet to a textured one, but it's up to you

Thanks Mirek, I will add one of each build plate. If the budget was unlimited I would just get one of everything..

The Obxidian is hardened, no worries.
The tools listed here: are a good start: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/regular-printer-maintenance-core-one_829710
and although Prusa supply enough lubricant for the first year or two you might buy extra.

I would add a 0.6 mm nozzle or switch from the 0.4mm you already added.

I'd say it depends on what you want. If speed is all you care about then a .6 nozzle can be useful, but if your more interested in print quality then I'd recommend sticking with the .4. I print functional parts and see no real benefit of the .6 except for being able to print thicker layers, at the sacrifice of print quality.
Ymmv.

I would recommend the build camera and if it is within your budget the filter as well.
The Obxidian nozzle produces excellent results and lasts longer than the normal nozzle, especially if you are printing with abrasive filaments.

Awesome, Have added the camera for piece of mind. Thanks ChiTownGuy.
I wouldn't bother with the camera; after the first novelty they have no real use. Everyone makes a couple of stop-motion build videos but after the first two or three they just waste disc space. Everyone claims they use them to monitor prints but once your new printer has run-in and you have learned the basics there will be so few issues to monitor that checking the camera will become a pointless chore and although you could link it to spaghetti-detective software that implies dedicating a computer to the job in order to stop, not save, perhaps one or two prints a year.

Completely agree - that camera novelty wears off real quick IMO!

Cheerio,
I run many prints in my lab in my basement while i am elsewhere in my house (one or two stories above the basement) and I used the network add on Pi Zero with camera on my MK3 and a cell phone mounted on a tripod on my MK4S to monitor printing when I am not in my lab.
I frequently run 10 hour plus prints and the ability check it remotely and possibly stop it remotely is a very useful feature. And, considering the camera only costs $39 it's a no-brainer for me.

You are welcome.
