RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
I'm assuming the Buddy Camera somehow still fits in the corner?
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Heh good point. I don't plan to run my spools that way, will probably just use a pair of 4 spool/dry boxes on a shelf above/behind the printer. Seems like it could be a smoother filament path as well.
I've been thinking it's a good thing Prusa went with the "side windows" because at least we can use those.
If you load the sides with 8 spools, there's not much left of those windows either I'm afraid.
It seems like it should. It's well behind the upper left corner of the door frame anyway, doesn't seem like an INDX tool mounted to the bar would interfere.

I doubt they will but this is another reason why they need to rethink the horrible boxy lid.
Just a clear acrylic thing will do fine. Match the acrylic to the door.
Even if its an additional cost id probably go for it (as long as its not prohibitively expensive), it will improve the appearance with the added benefit of improving the visibility of the current print.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
If I do go with the INDX system, I will just go for the 8 tool version.
Even though I do not print many of multicolour models (although maybe that will change.....), I just like to have all my main colours loaded up regardless. So the printer is there and always ready irrespective of what I'm printing. Call it laziness if you like! Thats how I have my H2D set up at the moment. 13 colours all pre-loaded, and I can remotely send print jobs without having to load/unload filament, It's just there and ready all the time.
I'd do the same with the INDX system (if I even get it that is). I dont want all those spool holders on the sides though - no space for all that. I have some shelves directly above my Core One, so will most likely place spools directly above the printer.......
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Was thinking about this just a few days ago! How on earth do you see that first layer quality, or check on the print?! Yes you'll get glimpses from the top/sides, but it's gonna be quite restricted!
I think I'd prefer four so I can still get a glimpse of my ongoing print. 😎
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?

If you need an enclosed build volume, there will be no visibility at all from the top, I believe: The new "turret" lid is not transparent. As @gb160 mentioned, let's hope that Prusa will see the functional and aesthetic limitations of that lid design and come up with something better!

I think I'll just throw more cameras at that. For "engineering" the ESP-Cam modules are plenty sufficient, tiny and you can get decent resolution (at reduced framerate) if you want.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Give me at least one reason why someone who uses only one material/color would want to switch to INDX.
I’m asking out of curiosity.
Well there's the free founders edition t-shirt and plaque for a start.
🙂 LOL The shirt and plaque are not free. The INDX price has that built in 🙂
Are you telling me that the prawn crackers I get from the Chinese takeaway with my Vermicelli are not free?! 😅

Sorry for the shock and awe. I have the phone number of a good therapist 🙂

RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
I’ve been watching quite a few INDX videos over the last few days, and the design is both brilliant, yet simple at the same time.
What I don’t understand is why no one has thought of this approach before.
Do Bondtech have patents on any of it?
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
If they don't have patents, they'd be pretty dumb lol
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
@gb160
Taken from their site:
"Will the INDX be protected by any patents?
Yes, INDX is protected by patents. We’ve secured IP for specific, novel technologies at its core, without targeting existing tool-changing features or limiting others from creating tool changers. Our focus is on protecting what makes INDX unique, while encouraging innovation, open-source collaboration, and non-commercial projects. Commercial use of INDX’s IP protected aspects requires proper licensing to ensure fair and sustainable growth.
Our submitted patents, trademarks, and industrial design protections serve several important purposes: they give us the freedom to operate without interference, help generate the revenue that fuels continued innovation, and safeguard our Partners and their INDX-embedded creations. These passionate creators build the remarkable machines that bring real value to all of us."
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Anyway, I just happy to see printer manufacturers competing again and Prusa stepping up to the plate again. Otherwise, we'd be on the "latest" Prusa MK5 bed slinger.

Unrelated to INDX obviously, I might start a thread on the main forum...but we could be seeing another Chinese big hitter enter the 3D printing space....DJI
They just bought shares in Elegoo.

RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
This could be a big move. I believe BambuLab was formed by a couple of ex-DJI engineers who stepped away from DJI and created their own company. If DJI themselves are looking to enter the 3D Printing space they could create something really special - probably along the BambuLab line of making printers as beginner and user friendly as possible. DJI are really branching out into everything now - starting with drones, now they're into action cameras, 360 cameras, robot vacuum cleaners - and have you seen the electric bike? Just, wow!
Excited to see what DJI can do in the 3D Printing space, but I'd expect it to be quite similar to BambuLab......

RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Stevebuilds done a pretty good livestream with the INDX yesterday. He’s had his hands on the Voron version as one of the beta testers for a while now.
Obviously it’s mainly Voron stuff but a lot of it overlaps with the C1 version, it was good to see the latest version of INDX up close, the way the extruder motor doubles up and is used for connecting/disconnecting the tools is really quite clever.
RE:
It would be nice if the head switches used for the INDX were carbon fiber; it looks as if they are just printed black.

They are probably injection molded or machined parts. I don't think BondTech are going to use FDM printed parts for this.

Olaf confirmed the production parts will be SLS printed, they have an SLS print farm at Bondtech.
