Forum email spamming

Is there anyway to disable the forum sending me 30-50 emails per day.

I don't see any option to turn this off.

Please, just make it stop.

It exists. Set it in your profile in the subscription section.

Can you be more specific mate?

In my profile -> subscriptions I have literally nothing ticked, yet I'm still getting constant emails.

If you scroll further down on that page, there should be a list of your subscribed threads. (Below the upper section with the checkboxes where you can add new subscriptions.) It seems that you need to click on each "unsubscribe" link individually; I can't see an "unsubscribe all" option.

And you will automatically be (re-)subscribed to every thread where you post. There's an "unsubscribe" link at the top of every thread's list of posts too; I click them when I find that a thread has reached a point where I no longer want to follow it closely. And the emails you get include "unsubscribe" links as well.

I wish there were global controls, or an "opt-in" rather than "opt-out" subscription mechanism. But I can manage with the available tools, although they make this harder than necessary.

This forum 100% needs this. It's ludicrous there's not just a simple option to opt out of spamming emails.

Surely the default should be unchecked - so you have to manually opt in should you wish to subscribe.

This forum certainly is a little strange - that and the fact that I cant even edit any post after its live, even though the edit option is there and its only a few seconds after posting, but alas, that's for another thread (which is there but the admins didn't ever fix)!

Absolutely correct mate.
I can live with strange, but this borders on...scratch that, this crosses over into: straight up annoying.
I don't even know why anyone would ever want this behaviour, but to have it as default with seemingly no way to turn even it off just boggles my mind.

Could be part of the reason why this forum has so few regular contributors...there's a whopping 17 people online right now 😂

RE: Forum email spamming

I use a more brute force method and setup a filter to move all forum emails to the trash folder.

RE:

Other thing that annoy me:

  • Old threads marked as new/unread when they clearly are not.
  • Random popup texts in different languages.
  • Constantly having to log back in and it seems random
  • Browser compatibility (right now only seems to work well with Chrome)
  • The very short edit and delete windows

And of that 17 probably only 4-5 of us that regular contribute anything. I think the 15-20 online number is either arbitrary or that this website is distributed across multiple instances on the backend and we are just seeing the number of people load-balance/routed to that instance.
