Just fun speculation but I'm guessing maybe they couldn't come up with something workable and got in bed with Bondtech instead?

Even then - they still need a spool storage solution. I would have thought that was the easy part! lol

The best spool / buffer solution for all MMU3 printers.  And I designed it!

Are you running the MMU3 without a buffer? No issues with the filament jumping off the spools?
