CORE One Heat Break and Chamber Temperatures

Just a quick observation on CORE One temperatures with the enclosed chamber, I searched and didn't see it covered but I may have missed it.  Printing PETG I'm trying to keep temps down as much as possible because I am seeing more stringing and blobs than with the MK4.  During a long PETG print I ran the printer door open lid off, door open lid on and door closed lid off.  The chamber fan is set to 30% which is still pretty quite.  Overall I saw the lowest heat break and chamber temps door open lid on.  The heat break temp goes up about 5 deg with the door closed regardless of the lid.  With the lid on and door open the air flow through the chamber seems to be a little better but not a big difference in temp, a couple of deg.  With both the door an lid closed the chamber temp goes up at least 5 deg or more even with the fan turned up.  The fan gets loud around 40% and that's not enough to keep the chamber cool with both closed.

I wondering if the heat break temps might stay lower with the door closed if I printed this?  The printer is quiter with the door closed and lid off

I can try and let you know. I actually have my printer modded such that the top is magnetically attached, so I can test your particular use case. I've been looking for a bit of a fan guard anyway so this kinda works out.

RE: CORE One Heat Break and Chamber Temperatures

Unless you like the fan cover, I don't think it is worth the time to print it out.

For PETG and PLA I usually run mine with the top open and fans at 40%, ambient temp usually around 23-26C. With the fan cover on, the chamber temperature seemed only marginally lower (1-2C) and won't make any difference. For PLA, the temperature still climbed to 30C or so with the top off.

Additionally, I don't think you will get away with 30% fan speed either without the front door open. The fans and intake design are actually one of the gripes I have against the Core One, as much as I love my printer. It seems like an afterthought, as if Prusa intended the Core One to be specifically for higher-temp filaments and only added the vents and fans in to market it as PLA/PETG compatible.

Also, not sure if you have tried this, I've noticed the presets for non-Prusa filaments tend to have the nozzle temperature too high. You can try lowering them by 5-10C? The only filament I did not have to make any adjustments for was actually Elegoo Rapid PETG.

I also find the filaments I have tested work better at lower temps.  The Fan was 30% but that was door open top off.  I have since turned it up printing door closed.  I haven't printed any PLA yet but plan to soon.  PETG was giving me some issues and I may need to go back and refine my profile. I was printing it top off.   PCTG seems to be doing pretty well top on and one of the standard profiles has a 40 deg chamber temp which I'm trying out now with good results.

Heat break temperature went up more than I expected even with the top off and I'm not sure how much that will effect print temperature if any.
