RE: Core One Damaged in shipping

Happy to report my replacement unit arrived safe and sound. The entire process took 18 days — from the day I received the damaged printer and reported the damage to when I received the replacement.

A friend of mine used to work for a courier company and left after she witnessed packages being kicked like footballs and generally mishandled on a regular basis. I'm not saying you can do that with a Prusa Printer lol, but there is absolutely no care given to a package when its passing through several hands, trucks, trains, etc to get to you.

OP i'm glad you got a resolution. I just received the Core One I ordered for a customer of mine from Printed Solid and it came with the same damage you had.

PRUSA told me they could do nothing and had to call Printed Solid. Printed Solid says I need to ship it back for repair.

My customer is furious. Printed Solid missed two dates they gave me for when it would ship and now I need to tell my customer that not only will they be without a printer for another couple weeks, but they will have a repaired printer and not the new printer they ordered or expected.

Part of my day-job is to test the packaging for my employer's products to try to reduce DefOAs (Defects On Arrival, including shipping damage). I even drop our packaged products. I just try not to think how much the product costs as I'm doing it (these are bench-top gas chromatographs, mass spectrometers, and associated equipment). 🤣

I had to return my first core one due to this, the printer was fine but the box was destroyed. Upon testing the printer had several problems, including bed probing. Got my replacement yesterday, the package made it all the way to Canada, by DHL express service and the box showed zero damage, unlike my first one that was dirty, broken and cracked taped, corners crushed in....The first one was handled by Fedex. I will never use Fedex again for something this size.

I am surprised to read that you opted for a replacement, after your terrible experience with the printer being messed up, Prusa support gaslighting you, a forum full of shills etc. Anyway, hope things go better for you going forward.

I did not have much choice, a new machine was shipped and here it is. If a conversation would have happened I would have considered. Have way too much accesories and other items so returning those or selling them would have been - more time - on my side. Giving this another try and hoping for FW updates that would make the experience a bit more polished.

At this point I am also exhausted and dont want to deal with this any longer.

On the other hand, support has been very kind with me and supportive. I think they come around and are trying to make it right. For that reason I also feel more compelled to keep it. I would have opted for a refund otherwise.

Same here. First one delivered via FedEx with the box incredibly beat up and printer damaged, but DHL managed it perfectly fine, and significantly quicker.

Just adding to the thread. Sad day for me too. Received mine yesterday (assembled version), box looked intact. Only noticed the damage when I took it out of the box. A reinforcement in the middle (like the ones in the corners) could help.

Support wanted me to test the printer but I don't want to keep a dented machine...

Waiting for support to send return instructions. And hopefully report back with good news on the replacement.
