Chamber Fan limits

What does this setting really do?
Is it the lower limit, because it is set at 48% and still starts printing at 100%

How can I set them lower to start with? It is so noisy

That does not happen in my Core One. What filament settings are you using? How do you know the fans operate at 100%? (They are quite audible indeed at 40%...)

RE:

This is set in the menus.
While the printer is running, if you go into TUNE and down a bit is chamber fans 100%
and just below that is chamber fans limit.

I am using Orca Slicer and I don't see anything in the printer or filament profile for the chamber fans (or in Prusa Slicer either)

If you set the chamber fans to Auto on the printer then the limit sets the high limit Auto can go to.  If you manually set the chamber fan speed this setting does nothing.

There is a minimum in the code as well.  I dont think they will go below 16% regardless of what you set as a minimum.  There was a comment on the github somewhere.

Is this about fan speed, flow rate, or something else?

Is this about a real contribution, intent to spam, or something else?

That didn't do anything

I tried again today. When I started the print, I went into TUNE and the chamber fan was set to auto. When the print started, it changed that to 100%

Did the setting in the firmware actually change or are you saying the fan just ran at 100%.  There are other settings that will run the fans such as filtration.  You're not clear on exactly what you are experiencing. If the setting in the firmware is actually changing I would be looking at your custom G-code under printer, have you made any changes this setting.  I'm not sure its even possible but the are G-codes for the fans.

What is the max fan speed set to in the firmware?   What is the nominal temperature set to under filament in the slicer?  What setting do you have in firmware for filtration?  Are you running the latest released 6.3.4 firmware?

RE: Chamber Fan limits

I am using Orca, haven't added anything to the start/printer gcode.
The only place I can see you can set chamber fans to auto or percentage is when a print is initiated and go to TUNE and you can set it there. I have it set there to Chamber Fans AUTO and Chamber Fan Limit to 58%. When the print starts it changes the CHAMBER FANS to  100% but the max stays at 58%, even though the fans are running at 100%. I can change the CHAMBER FANS to a lower percentage and they slow down, but that only works for that print
You can't set max chamber temperature because the print/printer changes that.
I have filtration turned off.

If there is somewhere in the setup or something that allows me to set these settings and they are persistent, I don't know where that is.

You can adjust these settings under Control, Temperature from the main menu on the printer.

If you still have issues with the setting changing when starting a print I would try Prusa slicer to rule out Orca sending it a command that is causing this issue.  You wouldn't really need to tune it just start the print and see how the fan behaves.
