Cant get past a layer shift since up grading to Core One +
yesterday I recieved my upgrade kit and installed it accordint to the Prusa how to section. It installed easily. My problem occuered when I tried a test print. I tried several models everyone was the same. First layer is beautiful by the third layer its off to the right sidw a full nozzel width and building string. I spent most of the morning trying the help section and no luck. I had to readjust my belts to get through the calibration part so Im wondering if the new wat of setting the belt tension is off or I am not seeing thr belt movement properly. Im sure it has to be something simple as this printer has just printed everything without a hitch before this. Thanks for your imput. Regards

So you upgraded the Core One to the Core One+? Check if the Y axis calibration still passes. Move the gantry up and down along Y. I suspect it's getting caught on the side filament sensor cable.

It was gettingcaught to start with. I discovered that when it would not pass the Y test. I moved the cable back to where it belonged then It passed the yaxis test.

Ok update time. I some how got my bed out of level. I lowered it until the leavel was proper on the botom. I started a simple print and have atleast 8 layers and looking good. Hyiger I thank you for your quick reply. I decided even that I had rerouted the sensor cable to have another look and thats when I spotted the bed being out of level. Good to go thanks again.

There are 3 spots that can causes layer shifts (that I'm aware of) due to interference with the print head or the gantry. The first is the side sensor cable, the second is the Nextruder main cable drooping down and getting caught between the print head and the X motor and the third is the print head bumping into the heat bed cable cover.

I can see each of those contributing to the layer shift problem. My bed was about 10mm or close to 1/4 inch out side to side. After putting the bed right down and letting it come into a proper level again. Everything worked really good. Thing is I remember when it happened I have a screwdriver type torx key I laid it down on the bottom of the printer and forgot about it until I lowered the bed to start the process of the upgrade.I heard a ratcheting type noise and forgot to lower the bed to Realign the level before trying a print.
