Built in "Z Hop" a problem with Core One and LW-PLA
Hey, Guys - I'm a plane developer with 3DLabPrint. After 10 years with Folgertech Printers, I've made the move to the Core One, assembling three kits for prototyping. Unlike prior printers, the Core One has no provisions for bed leveling as it probes the surface and creates a virtual plane. So in typical operation, the Z axis moves up and down as each layer is created. During a head repostion for the next layer, there is a noticeable "Z Hop" to insure that the head does not contact any part of the model. All is good so far, this tech eliminates the need for manual bed leveling and insures perfect first layers - I'm appreciative. Those of you that are late to the party, this was a real PITA in the early days.
Now for my particular problem, of which I'm looking for suggestions. - In printing with LW-PLA, there is constant oozing as the filament is foaming. No amount of retraction solves this of course, the nature of the beast. The plane printing developers essentially solve the mess problem using two techniques, either printing in vase mode (which means the model must accommodate vase mode) or designing a facsimile of vase mode where there are minimal lifts and reposition of the head. But that's not always possible or feasible. So, there is a stopgap (or was) and that is to use the "do not cross perimeters" parameter. This ensures that any stringing falls within the part itself, it can look messy, but at the end of the print you don't have to spend any time cleaning the part before use.
Enter the Core One. When the "do not cross perimeters" parameter is active, the print head does indeed stay within the confines of the model. But lets look at what happens when you have a under camber shape, like the underside of a wing, and an excessive Z Hop. The head lifts to miss the model for the next reposition, and moves from say the trailing edge to the leading edge, all within the perimeter of the model - but because the nozzle is oozing, it takes the path of least resistance - a straight line. The result is a printed part with oozed filament everywhere outside of the part. Old school printers kept the head close enough to the model where the oozing filament string was essentially wiped off on the interior of the part.
So now, if you're model has holes, recesses, etc. as internal wing structures do, they are blocked by a rash of filament strings.
The question is, is there a way to insure a minimal head raise during movements so the ooze is contained within the model?

You are correct, the forum does not allow you to directly attach .3mf files,
However if you save the .3mf project file, then ZIP compress the .3mf file, you can then attach the Zip file.
