Basic Core One question

Hi, this may seem a silly question but I'm interested to know what the Core One looks like from the left hand side as all the pictures on the Prusa website are from the front or right side. Is there a second place for a spool of filament on the left hand side? I'm used to space for 2 filaments at the top on my MK3S which is very convenient  in my small workshop; with the Core One I would have to have space at the front to open the door and also access the left side which would be a pain.

Thanks.

RE: Basic Core One question

The left side has a simple metal cavity similar to the right side and can be used for storage of plates or similar sized items.  There is no provision for a second spool of filament.  There is no problem using the printer if this side is inaccessible.

The left side is empty. It looks just like the right side but with no spool holder. Its pretty much dead space, but is meant to be a "modders" area for you to do anything you want.

RE:

While there is another pocket on the left side, it is not as deep as the one on the right -- so you can't fit another 1 kg spool in there. The Core One is not fully symmetrical, starting with the position of the nozzle on the print head (displaced to the left), which affects the position of the heatbed and the shape of the enclosure.

There is also no provision to route filament to the tool head from the left side. The pivot point of the arm which guides the PTFE tube and the cabling is in the rear right, so a PTFE tube coming form the left would need to be quite a bit longer.

Prusa's suggestion for the left side pocket is to store accessories there. Printables has many designs for small parts drawers, print sheet holders etc., typically attached to the sheet metal with magnets.

If you've got space on the right side you could replace the spindle on the right with a longer one to be able to store two spools on the machine.  I used OpenSCAD to extend Prusa's original model for the spindle - I didn't post it on Printables because there are already a few models for longer spindles.

The door can be hinged on the opposite side so it opens to the right. There are also mods on Printables to mount the spool inside the enclosure (which seems awkward to me) and I’ve seen a mod for a left-hand mounting.

I had the same issue - right side of my printer is not accessible as it's against the wall. I just place my filament spool on a shelf above the printer, using a longer PTFE tube to feed it into the right side. Always worked fine like this......

Thank you all very much for the helpful answers and suggestions, I'll go and have a look in the workshop and see how I can fit one in, it sound like a very nice machine.
