RE:
I've returned my Core One and bought a Qidi Q2 (that has been running flawlessly for a week now).
I'm sorry, but Prusa printers don't make any sense to me at this quality/price point.
I would have been happy to pay twice the price for a proper Core One, but my machine was riddled with issues because of QC and arguable design choices.
Still, I wish Prusa success with the upcoming INDX.
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
most likely on a shelf above the printer
Since you mention shelf... i've had my 5 spools on a shelf beside my printer, so i created a : HOLDERÂ for them, way better than originally scattered spools across the whole table. It takes around 700g of filament and 20 bearings (classic 608 type), which you can get dirt cheap on aliexpress.
(I wrote "had" above because i switched to Coreboxx and rewindr, thus eliminating annoying buffer. But i have core one, so whole thing now nicely sits above my printer)
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
The problem about trying to reply or argue about opinions, is that you will never change someones mind or opinion, and both sides of the opinion are correct.
IF you like Bambu Labs, you are correct.  If you like Prusa, you are correct.
This is all silly, and like trying to argue which automobile is better than another;  Guess what, they all seem to make it to work each day 🙂
For me, I was tempted by Bambu Labs price vs. features. But I have my own personal list of desires.  Prusa will have parts available for years longer than Bambu Labs.
Prusa is currently releasing firmware updates for printers that are many years old. The Asian manufacturers do not typically provide many firmware updates.
In my personal perception, Prusa has better technical support, but each person will have their own opinion.
On the counter-point, Bambu Labs has a better price and some additional features.
But for me, it is far more noisy.  For me, I was lucky enough to not worry about the price, and wanted the support, the assembly manual, and the larger community.
However, I will not argue that one is better than the other;Â They each have very different strong points.
Whatever one YOU choose, IS the correct choice, for YOU 🙂
Even though I almost bought the Bambu Labs based on price, I ended up ordering the Prusa Core One
for the reasons above.  But both of are correct. 🙂
Cheers,
Neal

RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
This is mine situation. I used MK4 and everything was as it should be. It printed and was useful. Then I quickly upgraded to 4s. Everything worked smoothly and it printed again... And then CoreOne came along. Advertised and praised... So I upgraded... I'll skip over the 18 hours spent on the upgrade. I expected that. But I can't ignore the fact that the printed parts were not of good quality. Several had clogged nut holes. Two XY axis strap mounts were too large to screw in. The filament sensor element did not close properly... The holes in the frame components did not fit very well. A lot of bending. The XY axis guide brackets were not at a 90° angle. Support recommended bending the whole thing! So I did. The instructions were misleading in many places. Just tightening the belt, the app had different information than the web version. Another hour to make sure which ones were correct. Everything was set up, the tests came out... First print and... Noise and buzzing... More hours with support. Taking it apart, checking, testing... After 5 weeks, they decided to send two new motors for the XY. They arrived heavily used, at least the dents in the material indicated the use of a hammer?Â
But okay, it's time to take apart almost half of the printer again... The nut in the belt tensioner started to turn and that was it. I have to order new ones... 2 weeks of waiting. They arrived, time to finish... It turns out that one of the bearings on the XY axis, which was sent in the upgrade package, has strange jumps on the rod. It is possible that this is due to the bending of the guide, which was necessary because the angle brackets were crooked from the start. So another expense and another two weeks of waiting. But 1 to 3 days shipping turns out to be 5 days just for shipping! I lost my temper... I ordered Baby today... Because it will probably arrive faster than CoreOne will work properly. I need a tool that works! And thanks to CoreOne, I have completely lost confidence that it will work as it should. It's an interesting situation, because Prusa released the product and knows about the printing problem, which it has been working on for two months now... And I'm just trying to make it work as it should for the price and brand.
At the same time, I see my friends with Bambu simply printing their designs, and I feel tired of doing work that nobody pays me for. Maybe I'm just one of many (as I see online) who ended up in the wrong place... But one of the few who can't find a solution and have been looking at an expensive device that's been gathering dust for three weeks.
We'll see which one will print first now.Â

RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
I've been using only Prusa printers for about 7 years. Started with the Mk3, upgraded it to Mk3S+, then bought a Mk4, upgraded it to Mk4S, then to Core One. I hate to say that I wish I had not upgraded to Core One. I had high hopes, but I've had too many issues. If I was just playing around as a hobby, I wouldn't feel as frustrated, but I use the printers for production for sales. For me, continuously having to disassemble the printer to do troubleshoot problems halts production in an unacceptable way. With that said, it's entirely possible that my frequent maintenance needs are typical for the amount of printing I do, and that my Core One is an upgrade from a Mk4S that had been printing non-stop from day one, so I don't want it to sound like I'm bashing Prusa.I do love Prusa as a company and their customer service is always top notch.
...but, I have to keep my business moving, so I bought a H2D and it arrived just this week, it seems to be leagues beyond the Core One in fit and finish, larger built plate, dual nozzles. We'll see how it performs.
RE:
Interesting story for me. With Prusa (I had an Ender 3 before that) I started with a MK4 and upgraded to a MK4S. I never bothered to learn g-code because I didn't have to. I would make an object, slice it and print it. Since upgrading to the Core One, I wouldn't consider myself a g-code expert, but I'm quite familiar with it now simply because of having to make changes to the start up g-code to work around various issues (nozzle cleaning failures for one) that I never had to think about on the MK4(S)Â
Also I don't recall having to endlessly tweak the belt tension or worry has much about spaghetti monsters destroying my printer or half a dozen other things that make it difficult to start a long print without constantly having to monitor it.Â
Snapdragon U1 will be out soon. I'll wait 6 months and if the hinted INDX tool changer is not available by then I'm going to jump ship.Â
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
I guess one of us have to break this bad reports about Core One... 🙂
i have no problems so far, at least not any major ones. I didn't upgrade from MK4S, but bought a kit (i still have MK4S, i'll sell it soon). Most problems i have are with MMU3, but even that ones are because i'm still learning: things like i push filament in too soon etc... But printing is flawless, and until i installed mmu3 it was quite faster than on MK4S. Now it's not anymore since i lost 0.25 and 0.28mm layer step with mmu3. But that's the price of having mmu...

I almost pulled the trigger on an MMU but everything I read about it told me it was an outdated hack and that I would need an additional appliance, the Core Boxx, to really make it work well with a Core One. As posted I'm holding out the for the INDX and if that doesn't get officially announced this year, I'm bailing.
With regard to your MK4S, unless you are space constrained I would keep it. You are going to need it to print spare parts for when parts on the C1 inevitability break.Â
Recently I decided to remove the g-code hacks to prevent the nozzle cleaning failure from happening. Now it's back of course. So thought I would try the new firmware. They didn't fix it, they just now have a message to either continue or abort the print but you have to be in front of the printer to accept it and start the print. The "permanent" fix is to detach 4 wires from heater connector, twist them and put them back. This eliminates (or dampens) EMF from the heater PWM signal which was swamping the load cell.Â
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
The Core One with it's small size is 1900Euro with MMU and camera 🤧 . Meanwhile the H2S with AMS is 1500 Euro and it's bigger and has thousands of sensor, not literally, plus the spare parts are plenty and dirt cheap. Got it today after weeklong back and forward, fingers crossed it holds up and won't disappoint.
If the Core One with MMU was 1000Euro as combo deal, the world would look different though, and I would have gotten that instead.
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
I made Coreboxx and Rewindr for MMU3. It's a huuuuge improvement, especially rewindr - no more buffer, easier loading... only thing is that rewindr isn't exactly made for coreboxx (yet) - i've had to change coreboxx's bottom part (i raised whole thing a few cm), otherwise i couldn't put roll inside.Â
MK4S will probably go to my nephew 1km away, so it won't be a problem if i'll need anything.
I also have g-codes to disable pre-heating, i installed custom nozzle cleaner with bambu lab's silicone pad. But, i never had problems with nozzle cleaning even without this mod.
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
Â
IÂ have this issue occasionally (especially with PC-CF and Nylon) and either I have to disable the heater before the nozzle cleaning or turn off the nozzle cleaning and rely on the nozzle wiping mod. I think this weekend I'm going to modify the heater cable.Â
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
That's great. You are lucky one. And it looks like you have a lot of time to twerking, finding problems solutions and printing modifications made by community... I do not have time for playing around. This money should buy quality.... Not time that user should use to make replacements and fixing it. I thought it's maybe just me, but looking over internet to find some solutions I found out, that there is a lot of people with problems, and twice more, who accept this problems. I'm company we had to order new printers, and troubles with CoreOne decided to order Bambu H2D...Â
Mine CoreOne is in this condition 6th week. I constantly have to buy parts that cannot be used after disassembly... Probably Bambu will take my prints before Prusa will work like it should...Â
But I'm happy that you have no problems and your printer is better than MK4S :)) good printing 4U!Â
RE: Asked about opinion for bambu vs Prusa Core
I have a Core One built from kit. No serious issues and it prints pretty well.Â
I also have a H2D. And I hate to admit it, as much as I like my Prusa machines, 90% of my prints go straight to the H2D. For me it was the fact that it comes as as a 'complete package'. The multicolour/multimaterial system. The camera. The remote possibilities. I can power my printer up (via smart plug) while I'm at work, send a print job across, then monitor the print via the camera system, and when I get home after work the print is complete and waiting for me. No fuss. And reliable.Â
At this point in time I don't have that same confidence with Prusa. I also don't want to have to purchase all these extra parts as add-ons - even down to the camera, which should have been included by default at this stage. And I have a MMU3 unit that's a bit of a tacked on afterthought, with a teaser as to what's coming, but no idea how long I have to wait. And we all know Prusa likes to make us wait, and wait, and wait........
I like how the MMU system works, without all that waste - but I like reliability even more. They desperately need to release this next gen system, or they will lose more of the market share......
