1st print impressions

Hey, just wanted to give you some impressions of the first print I made with the Core One that was delivered today. Ordered 25.11. / batch 2.

Stick settings, no modifications,  no calibration problems. Benchy rules from the usb stick. What do you think?

I have no doubts it will be just fine but has anyone actually benchmarked a benchy printed on one using calipers?  😆

Galaxy Black is probably the worst material you could have picked for an assessment of print quality as it hides imperfections very well.

Yeah, true, wasnt meant to be benchmark quality, just a first impression. I mostly print PETG, so my PLA choices are limited.

Galaxy colours as well as marble grey and sparkly stuff hides imperfections very well. I actually quite like using them for this reason! lol

Oh I love Galaxy filament, and Proto-Pasta has a spectacular range of glittery filaments. But to assess print quality?  Not so much.

On that topic — just did my first core one prints with ASA on satin. Not happy at all with the first layer quality. So far I had used textured, which works better — or just hid the imperfections better.

Man, I'm just so negative on that whole load cell thing. In the Mk3 days you calibrated once and were good forever.  Now it feels every print is a crapshoot.

I find a standard matt black to be good for judging quality - imperfections show up more then they do on a more brightly colored filament.

Stick sparkly or marble filaments on a textured surface and you can cover up as much as possible! lol

I'm the opposite with load cell though - it's always been spot on for me and has been a welcome addition. No issues at all........watch me now jinx myself!!!

Maybe we have different requirements, but I am absolutely satisfied with the MK4S. Only a few times where it didn't work.I wouldn't want to go back to MK3 level. But to be honest, I don't like the satin that much.
