Stuck Filament (PLA)

Hi,

so this is my 3rd or 4th print with Prusament PLA and during the middle of the print I noticed there was no filament coming out anymore.  I did a bit of googling and the problem might habe been that I kept both the door entirely closed and I did not open the top ventilation (seems I have missed it). I assume that is the main cause of my issue.

However, now I am wondering how I should fix this. I also did a bit of googling and while there is a guide on fixing a clogged nozzle ( https://help.prusa3d.com/article/clogged-nozzle-hotend-mk3-5-s-mk3s-mk2-5s_2008 ) I am not sure it applies to the Core One. Since I am new to 3d printing a few detailed steps on how to fix it would be very much appreciated 🙂

RE: Stuck Filament (PLA)

On reddit, someone made the suggestion to clean the nozzle with the provided brush and needle after heating it up. However, when looking at it from the side I also noticed the following:

As you can see, there is a filament shaped part visible that I assumed might be the cause of the issue. I assumed I caused the filament to tear when I did unload it beforehand. So, after the whole nozzle cleaning and purging procedure did not produce the desired result, I used the pliers that came with the Core One and removed the filament.

As you can see, there was quite a bit still inside. That being said, I do think that pushing the needle in would have been required to remove the clogged part in the nozzle.

Do you have any idea how I can avoid this in the future? Just leave the heat vent at the top open or also the door? Is something wrong that might require more checks?
