Print fan cooling duct scraping on bed cable cover when using the Satin print sheet.
This only happens when using the satin bed which is a lot thinner than the smooth PEI sheet. Mind you, my satin sheet is the generic i3 one, not one that says "CoreOne", so i'm now wondering if the core one branded ones are thicker perhaps? I can't believe that the satin sheet wouldn't have been tested.
Did i assemble the top wrong? i took it apart when i first noticed this happening, and then tried to move around the cables. I can't seem to be able to make them any better.
Can anyone test with their satin sheet to go all the way over the power cable section to check if it clears it or not?
*Edit: the attached file is a small video showing the issue.

The bed cable cover mounting screw (socket head cap screw) is too tall for the cover design and keeps the cover halves from seating properly. In this image it's the screw with the blue arrow. Replace it with a button head screw or a low profile socket head cap screw and it should be good.

You've got to be kidding me. I'll replace it and report back.

I replaced my post with an edit and now it's out of order, my bad 😬

No problem. i'm kindaaaa weirdly angry-ish? Because i just replaced the screw like you said, and the cover sits perfect. I haven't actually moved the head around, don't want to turn on the printer and have it do its homing because people have just gone to sleep XD
But the cover now sits flush with the bed screws that bed screws that align the build plate...

I hear you. It's a weirdly amateurish design mistake that somehow made it all the way to customers. Easy fix, though.

Indeed, and thank you for it. It was driving me crazy. I flipped the cover over and saw that indeed there was an imprint of the print head screw on it.

It's apparently a mistake in kit assembly manual. Factory assembled units has button head screw there and no issue.

So my Brand new satin sheet has a scrape through it directly in line with this screw in the rear left corner.... I can see it and clearly feel it. It has to be this wrong screw thats caused this issue.
Where do I stand with this? should I contact support?

First change that screw for an extra black torx one so that the cover sits correctly, and i guess contact support to see what happens. my satin also has a mark there, but i guess its not that bad and i can just use the other side. I know, i shouldn't have to settle for this.

What screw do I need mate? Ive still got all the spares from assembling the kit.
I'll contact support later, I'm not happy with a score down a brand new satin sheet, meaning one side is bordering useless for me as I print parts that are huge and surface finish is of paramount importance. Not happy at all.

i changed it for a black torx 3*8 screw. The important part is for the screw to be long enough to reach the nut on the other side and have a smaller head than the silver m3 one.

Yes, the two might be related. When probing the bed height in the rear left corner, the bed probably needs to be pushed up a bit higher, to slightly deform the cable cover and/or cooling duct, before the nozzle strain gauge registers the touch. Hence in the neighboring positions, where the cooling duct can already clear the cable cover, the bed might be positioned too high, jamming the nozzle into the print sheet.
(That's assuming that there is no "always active" monitoring of the strain gauge, which would safeguard against such collisions. Not sure whether that's the case? Does the printer rely on its previously probed grid of positions and ignores the strain gauge while printing?)
RE: Print fan cooling duct scraping on bed cable cover when using the Satin print sheet.
It might be the case that it doesn't take into consideration the probe once it starts printing. I see the probe reading going up and down depending if its retracting filament or pushing it through. So it could throw the bed level if it did take it into account. Perhaps its checking if there is excessive strain?
This is what i noticed and led me to check the cover, when it went to print the probe pushed the satin sheet too much and scarred it, at that corner.

I swapped the standard M3x10 screw for a M3x10rT screw (black button head). You should have a spare in the package anyways, and it fits perfect.
Will be sure to mention this in my build video (with credit) 😉

Credit should go to @el_hopaness, who first reported this problem and the solution a few weeks ago. 👍
RE: Print fan cooling duct scraping on bed cable cover when using the Satin print sheet.
I happened to complete this step last night so I looked at mine to see. There is a very small gap between the top and bottom covers caused by the cap screw head. I changed to the smaller rounded head screw and the gap is still there. It is smaller. Is there a way to tell if this is good enough to avoid the interference?

Could it be that the screw now has clearance, but the PCCF part has warped slightly due to the wrong screw being installed initially?

Check it against the two stopper screws for the print sheet that are at the back of the bed. It should be at max as high at that. Not higher.

Also take a close look at the crimped terminals on the two heater power cables. They are a bit bulky and mine were pre-bent upwards a bit, to they still got in the way of the cable cover.
